Total gross emoluments work out to approximately Rs. 53,000 per month in the initial stage in a metro city. Other allowances may vary by place of posting. Eligibility / Qualification

Nationality A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates other than Indian citizens require an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India. NICL Assistant Age Limit Minimum Age: 21 years; Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 01.07.2026). Candidates born not earlier than 2 July 1996 and not later than 1 July 2005 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. Selection Process

Selection consists of two online examinations followed by a qualifying Regional Language Test. Phase I: Preliminary Examination Section No. of Questions Max. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. Regional Language Test Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be shortlisted for a Regional Language Test in the language of the State/UT applied for. This is qualifying in nature only, with no marks awarded. The final merit list is prepared State-wise and category-wise, based on Main Examination scores, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.
