Desirable Experience: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics; proficiency in fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical parts and systems/facilities; knowledge of tools and machinery used in fittings (drills, tap, hacksaw, etc.); interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications; basic knowledge of computer systems and AutoCAD software; ability to work in a team and perform hard work in physically demanding conditions during field trials. 260102 – Electrician / Mechanic (Electrical Power Drives) (04 Posts) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Electrician / Mechanic (Electrical Power Drives). Desirable Experience: Understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, soldering, and components; knowledge of single-phase and three-phase systems/motors and power supply management; ability to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems with DC & AC (1ph & 3ph) equipment, crimping lugs, cable glands and connections; conversance with electrical tools (multi-meter, circuit/tong tester); ability to diagnose and repair faults in circuits and systems like power converters and drives; knowledge of electrical safety standards; teamwork and physically demanding fieldwork ability. 260103 – Electronics Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic (04 Posts) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Electronics Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic. Desirable Experience: Proficiency in repairing and maintaining electronic equipment, circuits, and systems; troubleshooting electrical/electronic faults; familiarity with tools and instruments for electronic repairs and measurements (multi-meters, circuit/tong tester); PCB making, soldering, precision wiring, cable routing, testing of components; motor and sensor wiring/testing; programming of embedded boards/micro-controllers; basic knowledge of computer systems and diagnostic software; teamwork and fieldwork ability. 260104 – Machinist (02 Posts) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Machinist. Desirable Experience: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and machining tolerances; proficiency operating lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines; knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters; fabrication of precision components, fixtures, and adaptors; understanding of measurement instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges); basic knowledge of CNC machining/programming and CAD drawings; teamwork and workshop/field work ability during fabrication and trials. 260105 – Foundryman (01 Post) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Foundryman. Desirable Experience: Knowledge of foundry processes including moulding, casting, and core making; ability to interpret basic drawings/specifications for casting requirements; familiarity with melting, pouring, and solidification of metals; knowledge of moulding materials, sand preparation, and pattern handling; ability to identify casting defects and take corrective action; basic knowledge of heat treatment and finishing processes; understanding of foundry safety practices; teamwork and physically demanding workshop work ability. 260106 – Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Diesel) (01 Post) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Diesel). Desirable Experience: Knowledge of mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, and auxiliary systems; ability to diagnose faults and carry out repair/maintenance; familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in vehicles and machinery; ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation; knowledge of maintenance/repair tools and equipment; basic understanding of fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems; assisting in maintenance of engines, pumps, and test rigs; basic knowledge of computer-based diagnostic tools; teamwork and fieldwork ability under demanding conditions. 260107 – Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning (01 Post) Essential Qualification: Same qualification pattern as above, specific to Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning. Desirable Experience: Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, air-conditioning systems, and HVAC fundamentals; ability to install, operate, and maintain refrigeration/AC systems; familiarity with compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control components; ability to read system layouts, piping diagrams, and schematics; knowledge of refrigerants, charging procedures, and leak detection; understanding of electrical components in HVAC systems; ability to troubleshoot faults and carry out preventive maintenance; basic knowledge of computer systems and control interfaces; teamwork and workshop/field work ability.

A non-refundable fee of Rs 500 is mandatory for applicants other than Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Women, and PwBD candidates, who are exempted from the fee. The fee must be deposited online through State Bank Collect (SBI Collect) only; fees paid through any other mode will not be accepted, and the application will be treated as without fee and rejected. The transaction number/receipt number generated after successful payment must be mentioned at the appropriate place in the online application before submission. Candidates must download the e-receipt from SBI Collect and upload it in the online application, and are advised to preserve it for future reference. A candidate can apply for multiple post codes subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria for each; primary/registration details need to be submitted only once, but the application form (except registration details) must be filled and the fee paid separately for each post code. Fee once paid will not be refunded on any count, and the application once finally submitted cannot be withdrawn or modified.

Selection is a three-stage process: screening of applications, a qualifying Trade Test, and a Competitive Written Examination. This section explains the marking scheme and qualifying criteria for the written stage. Online applications received within the stipulated last date are screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee, which shortlists candidates for a Trade Test in the relevant trade. The Trade Test is qualifying in nature; its syllabus will be notified separately on the official website. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test are called for the Competitive Written Examination.
