Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the last date of online submission of applications (11-06-2026). Admission to the Computer Based Online Test will be purely provisional. Engineering Degree/M.Tech/M.Sc./MCA must be of regular full-time course from a University/Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority in India. For calculating aggregate final marks, the aggregate marks of all years/semesters/trimesters would be taken. Rounding of percentage will not be acceptable; even 59.99% will not be treated as eligible. Final year/semester/trimester students of academic year 2025-26 who expect their results by 31.08.2026 are also eligible to apply. Application Fee
Candidates belonging to General (UR)/OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS category are required to pay a non-refundable fee. SC/ST/PwBD candidates and Employees of Coal India Limited and its Subsidiaries are exempted from payment of application fee. Application fee will be paid through online mode only. Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted against any further recruitment activity under any circumstances. CIL does not seek any other charges/fees except the application fee mentioned in this advertisement. Selection Process
The selection process for CIL MT Recruitment 2026 consists of a Computer Based Online Test (CBT) only. There will be NO interview for final selection. The CBT will be of 3 hours duration (in one sitting) consisting of two papers of 100 marks each. Paper-I covers General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General English. Paper-II covers Professional Knowledge (Discipline related). Each question carries 1 mark and there is NO penalty for wrong answers. No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions. The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi); in case of any error in Hindi version, the English version will be valid and final. Candidates may opt for three Test Cities in order of preference (cannot be changed after submission). CIL reserves the right to allocate any Test City other than opted and to add/delete cities based on applicant numbers.
