Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (07-06-2026). Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. A valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN) is mandatory - GATE scores of any other year (prior to or after 2025) will not be considered valid for this recruitment. The qualifying degree must be from a University/Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority in India and must be a regular full-time course. Candidates having completed their degree or passed their final semester examination as on the cut-off date are eligible. In case of any dispute regarding admissibility of any particular qualification, the decision of the Chairman, Coal India Limited shall be final and binding. Application Fee

Candidates applying for the post of Management Trainee (Mining) are required to pay a non-refundable application fee as specified below. The fee must be paid online only. CIL will not be responsible if a candidate deposits the fee in any wrong account. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to verify their eligibility before applying. Selection Process

The selection process for CIL Management Trainee (Mining) Recruitment 2026 is based entirely on the valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN). There is no separate written examination. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted category-wise in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates per vacancy) in order of merit based on GATE-2025 Scores/Marks. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE-2025 Scores/Marks only. An Offer of Appointment will be issued only after successful completion of Documents Verification (DV) and Initial Medical Examination (IME). Selection Based on GATE-2025 Score Stage Details Shortlisting Based on GATE-2025 Score/Marks in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN); shortlisted category-wise in ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates per vacancy) in order of merit Documents Verification (DV) Shortlisted candidates will be called for Documents Verification; intimated via CIL website and registered email ID only Initial Medical Examination (IME) By the company's Medical Committee as per CIL Medical Attendance Rules; Medical Committee decision is final and binding Offer of Appointment Issued only after successful completion of DV & IME Tie-Breaking Rules 1st Tie-Break Candidate scoring higher percentage marks / CGPA in the minimum eligible qualification (Mining Engineering degree) will be placed higher in the merit list 2nd Tie-Break Seniority of age (older candidate preferred) if tie persists after 1st tie-break Post-Selection Details Training Period 1-year training-cum-probation period; on successful completion, service confirmed in E-1 Grade as Officer (Mining) Posting Anywhere in India including Subsidiary companies and Coalfield areas; candidates must submit 3 posting preferences but final posting is as per CIL Management decision Service Agreement Bond Minimum service of 60 months from date of joining; Bond of Rs. 3 Lakhs + applicable GST; Rs. 5,000/- per month deducted from salary towards bond money, refunded without interest after 60 months
