Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must hold the essential educational qualification prescribed under the Uttar Pradesh Vidhi Vigyan Prayogshala Araajpatrit (Praviधik) Seva Niyamavali, 2016, and must have appeared in PET-2025 with a valid, non-zero and non-negative score in at least one domain. UPSSSC Scientific Assistant Educational Qualification Candidates must hold a qualification in one of the following four domains: Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biological Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Biological Science, Biotechnology, Bio Chemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, or Microbiology from a recognized university/institute. Physical Science Domain: B.Sc. in Physical Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Physical Science, Nuclear Science, Instrumentation, or Electronics; OR B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry / Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry or Bio Chemistry from a recognized university/institute. Computer Science Domain: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or an 'A' level diploma from NIELIT. Preferential Qualification: Candidates with an M.Sc. in the relevant subject (for Biology/Physical Science/Chemistry domains), a higher qualification in Computer Science, a minimum of two years' service in the Territorial Army, or a National Cadet Corps 'B' Certificate will be given preference in case of a tie in other respects. UPSSSC Lab Assistant Educational Qualification Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biology Group/Biotechnology/Bio Chemistry/Genetics/Cell Biology/Microbiology from a recognized university/institute. Physical Science Domain: B.Sc. in Physical Science Group/Nuclear Science/Instrumentation/Electronics; OR B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics. Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry Group/Bio Chemistry from a recognized university/institute. Computer Science Domain: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or an 'A' level diploma from NIELIT. Preferential Qualification: Candidates with a minimum of two years' service in the Territorial Army, or a National Cadet Corps 'B' Certificate, will be given preference under the same rules. UPSSSC Forensic Science Laboratory Age Limit 2026 For both Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant posts, candidates must have attained 21 years of age and must not have attained more than 40 years of age as on 1 July of the calendar year in which vacancies are advertised. Upper age relaxation is admissible for SC, ST, OBC candidates and other eligible categories as per Uttar Pradesh government rules notified from time to time.

Selection Process
Selection is made purely on the basis of the Main (written) Examination. Shortlisting of candidates for the Main Examination is done using the normalized PET-2025 score, category-wise, at 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (including all candidates scoring at or above the final normalized cut-off up to two decimal places). Candidates with a zero or negative actual/normalized PET-2025 score will not be shortlisted. The written examination will consist of a single question paper of 100 objective-type, multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark, and there is a negative marking of 25% (1/4 mark) for each wrong answer. Chemistry: Physical, organic, inorganic and analytical chemistry, forensic and applied chemistry, biochemistry, environmental chemistry, instrumentation. Biology: Cell biology, genetics, molecular biology and biotechnology, human anatomy and physiology, blood and serology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, forensic biology, ecology and environment. Part-2 covers computer and information technology fundamentals, internet/WWW, hardware-software, email, MS-Word and MS-Excel essentials, digital financial tools, cyber security, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things. Part-3 covers Uttar Pradesh's history, culture, art, festivals, geography, natural resources, economy, agriculture, industry, polity, and current affairs related to the state.
