Eligibility / Qualification
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Graduation (Bachelor's Degree) from any recognized university. For Block Organizer / Platoon Commander posts under Home Guards Headquarters, UP, the mandatory educational qualification as per UP Home Guards Service Rules 1982, Part-4, Rule-8 is a Graduate degree from a recognized university (for non-departmental/civilian category). Desirable Qualification (Adhimani Arhat): As per UP Home Guards Service Rules 1982, Part-4, Rule-9, preference will be given to candidates who have: (a) served in a Provincial Army for up to two years, OR (b) obtained NCC 'B' certificate, OR (c) continuously worked in the Home Guards organization for a minimum of three years. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 years and 40 years as on the first day of January of the year of recruitment (as per the advertisement date). Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories as per UP government norms. Reservation: SC/ST/OBC/EWS vacancies are reserved as per Uttar Pradesh government reservation rules. 3% of vacancies are reserved for Physically Handicapped (Divyang) candidates. Reservation for women, ex-servicemen, freedom fighters' dependents and outstanding sportspersons is also applicable as per applicable UP government rules.

Selection Process
The selection process for UPSSSC Block Organizer and Platoon Commander Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages: Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on their normalised score in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025). Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and have been issued a score card by the commission are eligible to apply for the Main Examination. Main Written Examination (Likhit Pariksha): Selection will be based on the written examination consisting of 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks in 2 hours (120 minutes) with negative marking of ¼ mark per wrong answer. Physical Measurement Test: Qualifying in nature; candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature; candidates must complete the prescribed run within the specified time. Final Merit List: Will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Written Examination by candidates who qualify the physical tests.
