Eligibility / Qualification
Who Can Apply Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the Anganwadi Worker post. The applicant must be a resident of the same ward/gram sabha where the vacant post exists. If an eligible candidate from the applicable category is not available in that ward/gram sabha, a resident of the concerned Nyay Panchayat becomes eligible. Selection Process
Selection will be made on the basis of merit determined from the candidate's educational qualification (from Intermediate to Postgraduate level), combined with the following priority (Variyata) order applicable within the eligible ward/gram sabha: A widow, legally divorced, or deserted woman belonging to a family living below the poverty line (BPL), resident of the same gram sabha/ward (urban areas). If such a candidate is not available, any other woman from a BPL family in the same gram sabha/ward. If no candidate is found under the above categories, a widow/divorced/deserted woman from a family living above the poverty line, in the same order of priority. If still not found, women from families living above the poverty line. If no eligible candidate is available in the gram sabha under any of the above categories, selection will be made category-wise from the concerned Nyay Panchayat. Reservation Rules Applications for a post reserved for a specific category will be accepted only from candidates belonging to that category. Posts under the unreserved category are open to candidates of any caste.
