Selection Process

Selection is entirely merit-based - there is no written examination. The process, as described in the Government Order dated 17 September 2025 (referenced in this notification), works as follows: 50% posts from serving Anganwadi Sahayikas (Helpers): Half of the vacant Karyakatri posts are first filled through eligible Anganwadi Sahayikas of the same gram sabha/ward who have completed a minimum of 5 years of regular service, are not above 50 years of age, and hold at least Intermediate qualification. Selection among eligible Sahayikas is done through merit. Remaining 50% posts via direct recruitment: The remaining posts are filled through direct online applications from eligible women residents, following the priority order (widow/divorced/deserted/general, BPL first) described above. Merit list preparation: Marks scored in Intermediate are divided by 10 to compute the merit score (for example, 45% marks = 4.5 points; 59% marks = 5.9 points). The same method applies to grading/CGPA-based results. If a candidate holds qualifications higher than Intermediate (up to postgraduate), those percentage-based scores are added to the Intermediate score to prepare the final merit. Tie-breaker rule: If two or more candidates score equal merit marks, the older candidate is given preference. If age is also equal, the candidate with higher educational qualification is preferred. Reservation: Reservation for SC, ST, and OBC categories is applied as per applicable Uttar Pradesh government orders. Selection Committee: Chaired by the Chief Development Officer (or an Additional District Magistrate-level officer nominated by the District Magistrate), with the District Programme Officer as Member Secretary, along with nominated SC/ST officer, OBC officer, a Group A/B woman officer, and the concerned Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) as member/presenter. Approval and appointment: The selection list recommended by the committee is approved by the District Magistrate. Appointment letters are to be issued within 15 working days after DM approval, and appointment authority rests with the District Programme Officer.
