Eligibility / Qualification
All candidates must be Indian Citizens. The minimum educational requirement for ITI candidates is passing Class 10 (with Science and Mathematics) under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% marks, along with an NCVT or SCVT certificate in the relevant trade with minimum 50% marks, issued for a period of one year or more. For Diploma candidates, the requirement is Class 10 (with Science and Mathematics, minimum 50%) plus a full-time Diploma (Polytechnic) certificate with minimum 50% marks, issued by UGC/AICTE/State Government/Central Government recognised institution. Diploma candidates must have passed in the years 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 only, as per BOAT guidelines. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 at any government, public sector, or private industrial establishment are not eligible. Candidates with one year or more of work experience after their qualifying examination are also not eligible. A valid PAN Card issued by the Income Tax Department, Government of India, is mandatory for all candidates. Selection Process
The selection of apprentices will be done through a formal interview conducted by a Selection Committee constituted as per the Guidelines for Engagement of Apprenticeship Training approved by the Board of Directors. The Selection Committee will evaluate candidates on the basis of their academic/technical qualifications, percentage of marks secured, and performance in the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their percentage of marks in the qualifying ITI/Diploma examination and other applicable parameters for the relevant trade. A Common Merit List will be prepared by the Selection Committee and submitted for approval by the competent authority. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview at least 21 days in advance through Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier / Email. Selected candidates will be informed by Registered Post / Email, and the list will also be hosted on the ALIMCO website. Reservation for apprentices will be as per Section 5 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. Stage Details Stage 1: Application Screening Applications screened for eligibility, completeness, and portal registration. Incomplete or unsigned applications will be rejected. Stage 2: Shortlisting Based on percentage of marks in qualifying ITI/Diploma examination and other applicable trade-specific criteria. Stage 3: Interview Shortlisted candidates called for interview before the Selection Committee. Call letters sent at least 21 days in advance by Registered Post / Email. Stage 4: Document Verification Original documents verified at the time of selection/joining as per the checklist. Medical fitness certificate required from a Government hospital.
