Nationality Candidates must satisfy the general eligibility conditions prescribed by TNPSC, including citizenship requirements applicable to Tamil Nadu government recruitments. Admission to the examination is purely provisional and subject to verification of eligibility at every stage. Educational Qualification Each of the 56 posts has a distinct educational qualification requirement, generally a Diploma, ITI/National Trade Certificate, or a Degree in the relevant engineering or technical subject. The examination fee is Rs. 100 for one subject paper, payable at the time of submitting the online application. For every additional subject paper opted, an additional Rs. 100 must be paid per subject paper. Fee once paid for a subject paper will not be refunded if the candidate later withdraws that subject paper. Candidates belonging to SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), BCM, Persons with Benchmark Disability, Ex-Servicemen, and Destitute Widow categories can avail fee exemption/concession as per the free-chance rules detailed in the notification (Annexure II). Fee must be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI; offline modes such as Demand Draft or Postal Order are not accepted.

The Combined Technical Services Examination (Diploma/ITI) is conducted as a single-stage written examination, followed by onscreen certificate verification, physical certificate verification, and counselling (wherever applicable). Differently abled candidates can claim exemption from Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test) by declaring this in the online application. Candidates must appear for both Paper I and Paper II; failure to appear for either paper disqualifies the candidate from selection, even with qualifying marks. After the written exam, onscreen certificate verification is conducted, followed by physical certificate verification and counselling wherever applicable. Final selection is based on total marks scored in Part B and Part C of Paper I plus Paper II, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Candidates may choose two district centres as preference for the written examination; benchmark disability candidates may choose only one district centre.
