Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the cut-off date 30/06/2026. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 in any Government, PSU or private industrial organisation are NOT eligible. Absconded apprentice candidates from previous training are also not eligible. Criteria Details Mandatory Portal Registration Trade Apprentices must register on NAPS 2.0: https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in | Diploma & Graduate Apprentices must register on NATS 2.0: https://www.nats.education.gov.in. Aadhaar must be linked with Bank Account. Educational Qualification – Trade Apprentice ITI Pass Certificate in the respective trade (Full-Time/Regular mode only) Educational Qualification – Diploma Apprentice Diploma Pass Certificate in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education / University / recognized Institute in the respective discipline (Full-Time/Regular mode only). Diploma must have been passed within 5 years of 30/06/2026. Educational Qualification – Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering) Graduate Degree in non-engineering/general streams (BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc.) including sandwich courses granted by a College/University recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Government/Central Government (Full-Time/Regular mode only). Degree must have been passed within 5 years of 30/06/2026. Prior Apprenticeship Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 anywhere (Govt./PSU/Private) are NOT eligible. CGPA Conversion Candidates awarded CGPA/GPA/SGPA or letter grades must produce authenticated conversion formula from their Institute/University. If no formula is available, NPCIL's standard conversion table will be applied (e.g., 6.5/10 = 60%, 7.0/10 = 65%). Aadhar Card Compulsory. Aadhaar must be linked with candidate's bank account. Police Verification Mandatory - MAPS Kalpakkam is a highly prohibited area. Apprentices will be engaged only after submission of Police Verification Certificate issued by District Police Authorities. Physical Fitness Candidate must be free from contagious/infectious disease, Tuberculosis (any form), and any disease likely to be aggravated by apprenticeship. Minimum: Height 137 cm, Weight 25.4 kg, Chest Expansion 3.8 cm. Final engagement is subject to medical fitness declaration by Competent Authority. Application Fee

Selection Process

Selection for engagement of apprentices will be based on merit i.e. marks obtained in the qualifying examination (ITI/Diploma/Graduation). There is no written test. The final engagement is subject to document verification and medical fitness. NPCIL management reserves the right to cancel or alter the number of seats of any particular trade/discipline or cancel the entire process without assigning any reason. Stage 1 – Merit-Based Shortlisting Detail Description Selection Basis Marks obtained in ITI / Diploma / Graduation qualifying examination Local Preference Preference given to candidates from neighbouring villages within 16 km radius of MAPS Plant Site. If all trades are not filled by local candidates, merit list is extended to other applicants. Tie-Breaking Rule 1 In case of tie in percentage of marks, candidate born earlier (older candidate) will be ranked higher Tie-Breaking Rule 2 In case of tie in Date of Birth also, candidate with higher percentage in Matriculation (10th) will be ranked higher Stage 2 – Document Verification Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. All original certificates and self-attested copies must be produced. Candidature is provisional and subject to verification of originals at all stages. False information/documents at any stage will result in rejection and may lead to prosecution. Stage 3 – Medical Examination Engagement is subject to being declared medically fit as per NPCIL's requirements. Minimum physical standards: Height 137 cm, Weight 25.4 kg, Chest expansion 3.8 cm. Candidate must be free from Tuberculosis, contagious/infectious diseases, or any disability likely to interfere with apprenticeship. Stage 4 – Police Verification Since MAPS Kalpakkam is a highly prohibited area, all selected apprentices must submit a Police Verification Certificate issued by the concerned District Police Authority before commencement of training. A Character/Conduct Certificate from the concerned institution is also mandatory.
