Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the date of eligibility (01-01-2027). Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply. Candidates must mandatorily complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the SSO Portal before applying. Criteria Details Nationality Indian Citizen only. Educational Qualification (1) Degree in Law (Professional) or integrated Law Course from a University established by law in India. (2) Working Knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri Script and knowledge of Rajasthani dialects and social customs of Rajasthan. OTR Requirement Mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) on SSO Portal (https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in) before applying online through RPSC website. Children Limit Candidates shall not have more than two living children. However, if a candidate had only one child from a previous delivery but more than one child from a subsequent single delivery, they shall not be disqualified. Domicile Reserved category benefits applicable only to Rajasthan State domiciles. Candidates from other states belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS are treated as General category. Creamy Layer OBC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer are NOT entitled to reservation; they must apply as General (UR). Note on Qualification: The last date for acquiring educational qualification is the last date of application, i.e., 07-07-2026. Candidates appearing in the final year of Law degree at the time of application are NOT eligible. Qualification must be complete as on the application closing date.

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay non-refundable Examination/Registration fees through online mode only. The One Time Registration (OTR) process is mandatory. Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances. Selection Process

Selection for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer will be based on (i) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) and (ii) Main Examination (Written), followed by document verification and medical fitness. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall NOT be counted towards the final merit/selection. A Wait List may be maintained as per RPSC norms. Stage 1 - Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) The Preliminary Examination is an objective type examination. In the preliminary examination, 70% weightage will be given to the Law paper (subjects prescribed in syllabus) and 30% weightage to test proficiency in Hindi and English language. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination shall NOT be counted towards the final selection. If none of the five circles is darkened, 1/3 mark will be deducted Negative marking 1/3 mark deducted for each unattempted question where no circle is darkened Disqualification Candidate who has not darkened any circle in more than 10% of questions shall be disqualified Extra time 10 minutes beyond scheduled time provided to verify all bubbles are darkened Purpose Qualifying only - marks not counted in final merit Stage 2 - Main Examination (Written - Final Merit Basis) Paper Subjects Maximum Marks Duration Paper I Law 300 3 Hours Paper II Language - 1. General Hindi 2. General English 50 + 50 = 100 2 Hours Total 400 — Minimum qualifying marks for each paper: 40% (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates). The level of Paper II (Language) shall be that of Senior Secondary (Class XII). It shall be compulsory to appear in each and every paper of the written test. The Law paper is designed to test practical knowledge in criminal law, procedure, and framing of charges in criminal cases. Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates are entitled to minimum qualifying marks relaxation as per Rajasthan Civil Services rules and Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018 respectively.
