Eligibility / Qualification
Who Can Apply for Register A-II (Advt. No. 20263)? Register A-II is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are holding ministerial appointments not below the level of Senior Assistants and serving in connection with the affairs of the State of Punjab. Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible. Who Can Apply for Register-C (Advt. No. 20264)? Register-C is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are NOT covered under any of the following categories: Register A-I: District Revenue Officers / Tehsildars / Naib Tehsildars Register A-II: Officers/officials holding "Ministerial appointments" Register A-III: Block Development & Panchayat Officers / District Development & Panchayat Officers / Assistant Excise & Taxation Commissioner / Excise & Taxation Officers Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible. Common Eligibility Conditions for Both Registers (as on 01 November 2025) Service Condition: The candidate must be a confirmed hand and must have completed 8 years of continuous service under the Punjab Government. Age Limit: The candidate must be below 54 years of age as on 01 November 2025. Educational Qualification: The candidate must be a Graduate of a recognized university as on 01 November 2025. Punjabi Requirement: Proof of having passed Punjabi language up to Matriculation level or its equivalent is required. Note on Register Selection: Candidates must carefully verify from their respective department which Register they fall under before applying. No change in the type of register will be permitted at any stage by PPSC. Fee once paid is non-refundable. No change/edit will be allowed after fee submission. Candidates claiming fee concession must submit a self-attested copy of the relevant certificate along with the hard copy of the application form. Failure to submit this certificate will result in forfeiture of fee concession.
Selection Process
The selection process for both Register A-II and Register-C consists of four stages with a total of 100 marks: Selection Criteria & Weightage Sr. No. Component Weightage (Marks) 1 Screening Test (100 marks - 50% weightage considered) 50 2 Length of Service 15 3 Assessment of Service Records (ACRs/APARs) - Last 5 years 20 4 Interview 15 Total 100 Stage 1 - Screening Test: A Common Screening Test will be conducted for both Register A-II and Register-C. However, merit lists will be prepared separately for each register. Candidates scoring a minimum of 30% marks and ranking within 3 times the number of vacancies (in merit order) will be shortlisted for the interview. Stage 2 - Assessment of Service Records (ACRs/APARs): Last 5 years ACRs will be considered. If 5-year record is not available, the preceding year ACRs will be considered. ACR Grading and Marks: Grading Marks per Year Average 1 Good 2 Very Good 3 Outstanding 4 Stage 3 - Length of Service: Maximum 15 marks. For each completed year of service beyond the mandatory 8 years, 0.54 marks are awarded. Full 15 marks are awarded upon completing 28 years of service beyond the initial 8 years (i.e., 36 total years of service). Stage 4 - Interview: 15 marks. The interview panel assesses the candidate's suitability based on personal qualities. Screening test marks are not disclosed to the interview panel. Final Result: Prepared by adding 50% of screening test marks + ACR marks + Length of Service marks + Interview marks.
