Application Fee
The official notification does not mention any application fee for IREL OSCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Registration on the NAPS Portal (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.org) and the NATS Portal (https://nats.education.gov.in) is free of cost, and the application itself is also free. Candidates are advised to apply only through the official portals using the IREL Establishment Registration Numbers as specified - NAPS Establishment Code E0421210003 and NATS Establishment Code EORGNC000001. Do not use third-party websites or agents for applying. However, candidates must bear their own postal/courier charges for sending the hard copy application to the OSCOM unit. Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit determined by marks scored in the specified educational qualification. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate with higher marks in the qualifying examination will be preferred. If the tie persists, seniority in date of birth (older candidate preferred) will be the tiebreaker. No canvassing or influencing will be acceptable - this will result in rejection of the candidature. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification in the order of merit and must bring original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies. Final engagement is subject to satisfactory medical fitness as certified by IREL's Medical Officer. Reservation is as per the Government of Odisha guidelines. A unique priority-based selection system also applies to give preference to local, land-affected, and IREL employee-related candidates. Priority Categories for Selection Priority Category Priority I Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category (documentary proof of having given land to IREL required) Priority II Candidates who are permanent residents of villages within a radius of 07 km from OSCOM Unit Priority III Candidates who are wards of IREL employees, including candidates of employees who died while in service Priority IV Candidates who are permanent residents of villages beyond 07 km but within a radius of 10 km from OSCOM Unit Priority V Candidates who are domicile of Odisha State (documentary proof required) Priority VI Candidates from Rest of India Selection Stages Stage Details Stage 1: Online Portal Registration Register on NAPS (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.org) for ITI/Trade apprentices using Establishment Code E0421210003, OR on NATS (https://nats.education.gov.in) for Graduate/Technician apprentices using Establishment Code EORGNC000001. Stage 2: Hard Copy Application Submission Fill prescribed application proforma (printed back-to-back on A4 paper), affix passport-size photograph, attach all required self-attested documents, and send by Speed Post/Courier to reach IREL OSCOM on or before 15th May 2026. Stage 3: Merit-based Shortlisting Based on marks in qualifying examination. Priority categories applied. Tiebreaker: higher marks → date of birth (older preferred). Stage 4: Document Verification Shortlisted candidates called in merit order. Original documents + self-attested photocopies required. Provisional Offer Letter sent by email. Candidature rejected if originals not produced or eligibility not satisfied. Stage 5: Medical Examination Candidates must be declared "Medically Fit" by IREL's Medical Officer. Final engagement subject to satisfactory medical fitness. Stage 6: Police Verification Mandatory Police Verification Certificate from concerned police authorities (of area where candidate normally resides) - must be submitted prior to joining, as OSCOM is a highly protected area.
