Eligibility / Qualification
Each post under TIFR Recruitment 2026 carries specific eligibility requirements. The age limit is reckoned as on the closing date for receipt of applications (4 July 2026). Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Government servant candidates. Scientific Officer (C) - Post 1 (OBC) Qualification: BE/B.Tech (60% aggregate) in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering field. Experience: 1.5-3 years in System Administration/Network Administration. Age: Maximum 31 years. Scientific Officer (C) - Post 2 (UR) Qualification: BE/B.Tech (60% aggregate) in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in cryogenic engineering. Age: Maximum 28 years. Scientific Officer (C) - Post 3 (UR) Qualification: Full-time M.Sc. (60% aggregate) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Instrumentation or related discipline OR BE/B.Tech (60%) in the same disciplines. Experience: Minimum 1 year operating NMR Spectrometer. Age: Maximum 28 years. Junior Engineer (B) - Post 4 (UR) Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (60% aggregate). Experience: 2 years in supervising maintenance of large Air-conditioning systems. Age: Maximum 28 years. Scientific Assistant (B) - Posts 5, 6, 7 Qualification (Post 5 - SC): B.Sc. (60%) in Physics/Chemistry/Computer Science/IT/Electronics or Diploma in Engineering (60%) in CS/IT/Electronics + 2 years experience in IT support/system administration/networking. Age: Maximum 33 years. Qualification (Posts 6 & 7 - UR): B.Sc. (60%) or Engineering Diploma (60%) in relevant disciplines + minimum 1 year experience in programming/scripting or electronics/PCB designing. Age: Maximum 28 years. Administrative Assistant (B) - Posts 8, 9, 10 Qualification: Graduate (55% aggregate) with proficiency in word processing/database/accounting + 5 years experience in Accounts/Purchase/Stores/General Admin/Establishment. Age: Posts 8 & 10 - Maximum 33 years; Post 9 (OBC) - Maximum 36 years. Supervisor (Cosmetics Maintenance) - Post 11 Qualification: 3-year Degree in Hospitality Management + 2 years experience as Supervisor/Manager in a large Hotel/Hostel/Company. Age: Maximum 28 years. Tradesman (B) [Plumber] - Posts 12 (3 posts) Qualification: NTC (NCVT) in trade Plumber with 60% marks + 2 years experience; OR NAC (NCVT) in Plumber with 60% + 1 year experience. Age: Maximum 28 years (UR); Maximum 33 years (SC). Tradesman (B) [Electrician] - Posts 13 & 15 Qualification: NTC (NCVT) in Electrician (60%) + 2 years experience; OR NAC (NCVT) in Electrician (60%) + 1 year experience. Age: Post 13 (OBC) - Maximum 31 years; Post 15 (UR) - Maximum 28 years. Tradesman (B) [Welder] - Post 14 (EWS) Qualification: NTC (NCVT) in Welder (60%) + 2 years experience; OR NAC (NCVT) in Welder (60%) + 1 year experience. Age: Maximum 28 years. Tradesman (B) [Technician Mechatronics] - Post 16 (UR) Qualification: NTC (NCVT) in Technician Mechatronics (60%) + 2 years experience; OR NAC (NCVT) in Technician Mechatronics (60%) + 1 year experience. Age: Maximum 28 years. Laboratory Assistant (B) - Post 17 (UR) Qualification: NTC (NCVT) in Air Conditioning (60%) + 2 years experience; OR NAC (NCVT) in Air Conditioning (60%) + 1 year experience. Age: Maximum 28 years. Clerk (A) - Posts 18-21 Qualification: Graduate (50% aggregate) + knowledge of typing + computer proficiency (certified) + 1 year experience in clerical duties. Age: Post 18 (OBC) - Maximum 31 years; Posts 19, 20 (UR) - Maximum 28 years; Post 21 (EWS) - Maximum 28 years. Work Assistant (Auxiliary) - Posts 22-24 Qualification: SSC or equivalent + 1 year experience in a reputed canteen/catering establishment. Age: UR - Maximum 28 years; OBC - Maximum 31 years. Work Assistant (Technical) - Posts 25-28 Qualification: SSC or NTC (NCVT) in respective trade (Air Conditioning / Painter / Plumber / Fitter) + 1 year relevant experience. Age: Maximum 28 years. Security Guard - Post 29 (3 posts, UR) Qualification: SSC or equivalent + minimum 3 years experience in Defence/CAPF/Security work + Firefighting/First Aid/NCC/Civil Defence certificate. Physical standards: Male - Height ≥165 cm, Chest 80-85 cm; Female - Height ≥157 cm. Eyesight: 6/6 (minimum). Age: Maximum 28 years. Project Administrative Assistant (B) - Post 30 (UR) Qualification: Graduate (55% aggregate) + word processing/database/accounting proficiency + 5 years experience in Accounts/Purchase/Stores/General Admin. Knowledge of GFR and CPWD procurement procedures desirable. Age: Maximum 33 years.
