Eligibility / Qualification

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Post Educational Qualification Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (Post No. 1, 3 & 5) Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognized university, completed within the stipulated duration of the course, AND proficiency in the use of computers. Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (Post No. 2, 4 & 6) Graduation with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32/10 (completed within stipulated duration) OR Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with the same marks criteria plus one year of experience as Steno-Typist/Stenographer; AND a minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography; AND proficiency in the use of computers. (Apprenticeship Training Certificate under BOAT/NATS for DCP/DCCP holders is considered equivalent to one year of Steno-Typist/Stenographer experience.)

Application Fee

Application fee for all posts is ₹100. However, all candidates must initially pay a processing fee of ₹500 per application, uniformly. Post(s) Applied For Fee Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (ISRO & Autonomous Bodies) ₹500 Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (ISRO & Autonomous Bodies) ₹500 Assistant/UDC AND Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer (combined application) ₹1000 Fee is payable only online through the Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway via Internet Banking, UPI, or Debit Cards (domestic). No other mode of payment (cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc.) is accepted. The processing fee is refunded in full to candidates exempted from the fee (women, SC/ST/PwBD, Ex-Servicemen) who appear in the written test/CBT; for all other candidates, ₹100 is deducted and the balance refunded, provided the candidate appears in the written test/CBT. Refund is not considered if a candidate fails to appear for the written test/CBT.

Selection Process

Written Test A single objective-type paper of 150 minutes duration (with compensation time for PwBD candidates) will be conducted at 38 venues across India, including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kavaratti, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. Post Parts Questions / Marks Duration Qualifying Marks Assistant / UDC (Post 1, 3 & 5) A: General English, B: Quantitative Aptitude, C: General Intelligence & Reasoning, D: General Knowledge 50 Q / 50 Marks each (200 total) 150 minutes 50% (UR), 40% (Reserved categories against notified reserved vacancies) JPA / Stenographer (Post 2, 4 & 6) A: English Language & Comprehension, B: General Intelligence & Reasoning, C: Quantitative Aptitude & General Knowledge A: 100 Q/100 Marks, B: 50 Q/50 Marks, C: 50 Q/50 Marks (200 total) 150 minutes 50% (UR), 40% (Reserved categories against notified reserved vacancies) Marking pattern: +1 for correct answer, -0.25 for wrong answer. No TA is paid for attending the written test. Skill Test Based on written test performance, candidates are shortlisted for the skill test in the ratio of 1:5 (maximum) to the category-wise number of vacancies. Post Skill Test Components Passing Criteria Assistant / UDC Computer Literacy Test (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) 60% (UR), 50% (Reserved categories) JPA / Stenographer Computer Literacy Test + Stenography Test (300 words @ 60 wpm shorthand, 30 minutes computer transcription) Computer Literacy: 60% (UR) / 50% (Reserved); Stenography: max 10% mistakes (UR) / max 12% mistakes (Reserved) Final selection is based on marks scored in the written test, from among candidates who qualify in the skill test. In case of a tie, tie-breakers are applied in order: (a) marks in General Intelligence & Reasoning (Post 1,3,5) or English Language & Comprehension (Post 2,4,6); (b) date of birth, with the older candidate preferred.
