SalarySelected candidates will be placed in the entry-level NG-2 grade at a starting minimum basic pay of ₹26,500/- in the pay scale of ₹26,500/- – ₹34,000/-. Eligibility / Qualification

Eligibility is assessed as on 01.07.2026 (date of reckoning for post-qualification experience) unless stated otherwise. Post Code Qualification Minimum Marks Post-Qualification Experience A & B Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology 60% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL); 50% (SC/ST/PwBD) Minimum 1 year relevant work experience or apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, in Refining/Petroleum/Power/Lube/Petrochemical/Fertilizer Industry C Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 60% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL); 50% (SC/ST/PwBD) Same as above; Engineering Industry of repute also considered D Diploma in Electrical Engg./Electrical & Electronics Engg./Electrical Power System/Electrical Engg. (Industrial Control) 60% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL); 50% (SC/ST/PwBD) Same as above; Engineering Industry of repute also considered Diplomas in allied/equivalent disciplines are not eligible for the respective post codes. Candidates with higher qualifications such as A.M.I.E., B.E., or B.Tech are not eligible. Diplomas obtained through part-time, correspondence, or distance learning modes are not accepted. Application Fee

General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹590/- (₹500/- plus 18% GST, i.e., ₹90/-), plus payment gateway charges if any, through online payment mode only. SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Selection Process

Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 objective-type questions of 1 mark each, 120 minutes duration, conducted in English only, with no negative marking. The paper has two sections — Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude comprising English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs (40 marks). Stage 2 – Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT): Qualifying in nature, conducted at the respective refinery locations for candidates who clear the CBT cut-off. Stage 3 – Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to candidates meeting BPCL's Medical Fitness norms and standards. Merely qualifying the CBT does not guarantee a call for SPT; shortlisting depends on the number of positions, reservation ratios, and relative performance.
