| Salary | Essential Qualification Consolidated Remuneration (per month) MBBS from a University/Institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC ₹1,00,000/- Other Benefits Company accommodation may be provided on payment/availability basis to ex-SAIL employees (subject to entitlement) and to non-SAIL employees (2 BHK or equivalent category), as per applicable rent and utility charges. No House Rent Allowance (HRA) is admissible. Post-paid SIM under CUG, including monthly call charges and rental, is provided with a monthly ceiling of ₹350/- for MBBS-qualified consultants. Medical benefits for self and spouse are available at the unit hospital, subject to conditions; ex-SAIL employees continue to receive benefits as applicable to them. 10 days of leave per year is admissible, subject to prior approval. Maternity leave is admissible as per the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, subject to fulfilment of stipulated conditions. Tenure of Engagement The initial tenure of engagement is one year, or till the consultant attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier. The tenure can be further extended by one year at the discretion of the company. The maximum period of engagement under the same contract will not exceed 3 years; however, there is no bar on re-engagement, subject to the prescribed upper age limit. Performance will be reviewed annually, and the tenure may be curtailed or extended based on performance. |

Eligibility / Qualification
Educational Qualification MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC. Registration with MCI/NMC/SMC or a valid practitioner license, and enrolment in the State Register or National Register, as applicable. Candidates with relevant work experience will be given preference. The essential qualification and experience will be considered as on the date of advertisement, i.e., 23.07.2026. Age Limit The upper age limit is 69 years as on the date of advertisement, i.e., 23.07.2026. Consultants engaged under this scheme must be medically fit to perform their duties. No specific relaxation details are mentioned in the official notification. Who Can Apply Interested and eligible candidates with the requisite qualifications can walk in for the interview at the scheduled date, time, and venue. Ex-employees of SAIL Plants/Units and other PSUs/Government organizations can also apply, provided they have not separated from service by opting for voluntary retirement. Such ex-employee doctors must submit a self-certificate confirming this. Candidates must be Indian nationals possessing the requisite qualification from an institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC (as applicable), along with a valid practitioner licence.

Selection Process
Selection will be through a Walk-in Interview followed by a medical screening. Engagement will begin immediately after the selection process is completed and orders for engagement are issued. Candidates must download and submit the Application Form (Annexure-I) along with all supporting documents at the time of the Walk-in Interview. No other mode of application will be accepted.
