Eligibility / Qualification

Who Can Apply Candidates must be citizens of India. For the regular vacancy (04/2026): open to all eligible candidates meeting the qualification and age criteria below. For the backlog vacancy (05/2026): reserved for candidates currently working as Para Teacher (Sahayak Adhyapak) under the Jharkhand Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, Ranchi, with a minimum of two continuous years of service as on the date of advertisement publication. Educational qualification must be held as on the last date of online application submission (reference date). Educational Qualification (Applicable to Both Advertisements) Post Qualification Required Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 1–5) 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed, by any name), or Higher Secondary with minimum 45% marks and 2-year Diploma (session 2007–2009 as per NCTE norms), or 10+2 with minimum 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, or 10+2 with minimum 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education - and must have passed the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) for Class 1–5 as per NCTE guidelines. Jharkhand residents who cleared CTET (Class 1–5) or a neighbouring state's TET are also eligible, subject to clearing JTET within 3 years of appointment. Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Math & Science (Class 6–8) Minimum 3-year Graduation in Science/Engineering/Technology/Agriculture/Mathematics (as per UGC's March 2014 notification on Specification of Degrees) with 10+2 or Higher Secondary having at least two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, along with B.Ed/equivalent training and JTET (Class 6–8) pass. Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Social Science (Class 6–8) Minimum 3-year Graduation in Arts/Humanities/Social Science/Commerce/Management (as per UGC's March 2014 notification), along with B.Ed/equivalent training and JTET (Class 6–8) pass. Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher - Language (Class 6–8) Minimum 3-year Graduation or Honours Graduation in one of the notified languages: Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bangla, Mundari (Mundu), Ho, Khadia, Kurukh (Oraon), Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia, or Sanskrit, along with B.Ed (Special Education)/equivalent training and JTET (Class 6–8) pass. For Class 6–8 posts (all three subject streams), candidates also need Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or Graduation with B.Ed (subject to the 2011 cut-off rules mentioned in the notification), or 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/BSc.Ed. A relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks is admissible for SC/ST/EBC-I/BC-II/PwD candidates; 7% relaxation for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). Age Limit (as on 1 August 2026) - Applicable to Both Advertisements Category Minimum Age Maximum Age All candidates 21 years - Unreserved (UR) & EWS - 35 years EBC-I & BC-II (Male) - 37 years Women (UR, EWS, EBC-I, BC-II) - 38 years SC (Male & Female) - 40 years ST (Male & Female) - 40 years PWD candidates (all categories): additional 10 years' relaxation in upper age limit (disability must be 40% or more, certified by the competent medical board). Ex-servicemen: additional 5 years' relaxation. Existing Para Teachers under Jharkhand Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, Ranchi, with a minimum continuous service of 2 years as on the date of notification, get age relaxation equal to their contractual service period, up to a maximum age of 58 years.

Application Fee

Category Fee General/Other candidates ₹100 SC/ST candidates of Jharkhand State ₹50 The fee is non-refundable. Candidates eligible for both Advt No. 04/2026 (regular vacancy) and Advt No. 05/2026 (backlog vacancy) can apply through a single application, and only one exam fee is payable since a single common exam will be conducted for both. Selection Process

Selection for both the regular and backlog vacancies will be based on a single-stage written examination (Main Exam), conducted in OMR/Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. If any subject's exam is conducted in multiple groups/shifts, scores will be normalised as per the formula published on the JSSC website, and the merit list will be prepared based on normalised marks. All questions will be objective, multiple-choice type, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
