Selection Process
Selection for ECL ITI Apprentice posts is based on merit in the qualifying ITI examination, followed by document verification and a formal engagement process. Here is the step-by-step procedure as stated in the notification. A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (ITI). If two or more applicants secure the same marks, preference is given to the candidate who passed the qualifying examination earlier (by year of passing). If the year of passing is also the same, date of birth is used as the tie-breaker, with older candidates given seniority. If the date of birth of two candidates is also the same, the candidate who registered earlier on the NAPS portal is considered senior. Reservation applicable for CPSUs is followed throughout. Based on merit, candidates will be called for document verification. After successful document verification, candidates will be given a training engagement letter indicating the place of posting, date of reporting, and the scheduled date for contract creation at HRD, ECL Headquarters. The candidate must join at the respective place of posting on the date mentioned in the engagement letter. After joining, a joining letter will be issued to the candidate from their place of posting. The candidate must then report back to the HRD office with a copy of the joining letter for creation of the contract on the portal, on the date mentioned in the engagement letter. The place of apprenticeship training will be decided by the General Manager (HRD), ECL. Mere completion of document verification or empanelment after the selection process does not confer any right of engagement as an apprentice in ECL.
