Eligibility / Qualification

Para Pump Operator The candidate should have a minimum qualification of matriculation (10th) with a certificate in the trade of Electrician/Wireman/Diesel mechanic/Pump mechanic/Motor mechanic/Pump operator cum mechanic from a recognized ITI, or matriculation (10th) with a certificate in the above-cited trades under the Skill Development scheme of the Government. Para Fitter The candidate should have a minimum qualification of matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Fitter from a recognized ITI institute, or matriculation (10th) with a certificate in the above-cited trade under the Skill Development scheme of the Government. Multipurpose Worker The candidate should have a minimum qualification of Middle (8th) Pass or its equivalent from a school duly recognized by the State Government.

Selection Process

The total selection process is based on 10 marks, distributed as follows: Criteria Para Pump Operator Para Fitter Multipurpose Worker Percentage of marks/grades in Matriculation (for Para P.O. & Para Fitter) or Middle/8th Class (for Multipurpose Worker) 5 Marks 5 Marks 6 Marks BPL family having income as prescribed from time to time 1 Mark 1 Mark Not applicable Experience in related field with IPH(JSV)/HPPWD/CPWD/PSUs or an authorized outsourcing agency in HP Jal Shakti Vibhag (certificate from EE(JSV) required; half mark for every six months) 2 Marks 2 Marks 2 Marks Skill test and physical test (Para Pump Operator/Para Fitter); physical test only (Multipurpose Worker) 2 Marks 2 Marks 2 Marks Total 10 Marks 10 Marks 10 Marks Initial merit is drawn up based on the experience and qualification of the candidate as per the notified criteria. The top eligible candidates (approximately 3 times the number of vacancies) will be called for the skill/physical test through a separate call letter. No TA/DA will be payable to applicants for appearing in the skill and physical test. Experience Criteria Experience must be in the related field of IPH/HPPWD/CPWD/PSUs or an outsourcing agency providing service in HP Jal Shakti Vibhag, supported by a certificate issued by the EE(JSV). For Para Pump Operator: related field is operation and maintenance of pumping machinery and allied electrical installation of Rural Water Supply Schemes/Irrigation Schemes. For Para Fitter: related field is maintaining in-village piped water supply infrastructure or the distribution system of Rural Water Supply/Irrigation Schemes. Skill Test - Para Pump Operator Minor repair of pumps; basic knowledge of locating and replacing faulty or damaged parts. Knowledge of test pressure, leakages, and adjustments for appropriate water yield. Knowledge of pump installation and alignment to motor using basic tools. Ability to locate faults in electric system and motor. Ability to dismantle, remove, and replace worn-out parts, including greasing and oiling of moving parts. Knowledge of pump lubrication and cooling system. Ability to operate regulating valves and control mechanism of the pumping system. Skill Test - Para Fitter Ability to repair water supply pipelines, arrest leakage, and add or abandon connections. Basic knowledge of pipe fitting, sizes, operation, and maintenance. Ability to cut threads on pipes using ratchet and die sets, and fit specials using basic tools. Knowledge of village water supply infrastructure and pipe distribution layout, including flow regulation techniques in hilly terrain. Knowledge of tools used for pipe fitting and operating skills. Behavioral skills in handling grievances, complaints, and conflict resolution. Physical Test - All Posts Candidate should be capable of carrying tools and pipes in hilly areas. Candidate should not have any physical disabilities or colour blindness.
