Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates should confirm all eligibility conditions as of 29 June 2026 - the official cut-off date for age, qualifications, and certificate validity. Educational Qualification To apply for the GSSSB X-Ray Technician post, candidates must satisfy all three of the following conditions: A Bachelor's degree in Science from a University established under any Central or State Act in India, or an institution declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Completion of the X-Ray Technician course conducted by a Government Institute or a Medical College recognised by the National Medical Council. Basic computer knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification (General) Rules, 1967. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. Candidates who do not yet hold a computer proficiency certificate may still apply, but must produce the certificate before appointment. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of selection. Application Fee
The exam fee must be paid online only - no other payment mode is accepted. Candidates who appear for the exam are eligible for a refund; those who do not appear forfeit their fee. Category Fee Unreserved (General) ₹500/- Reserved (All Women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, Divyang, Ex-Servicemen) ₹400/- Payment Methods: Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Digital Wallet. After paying, candidates must download and preserve the payment receipt. If no receipt is generated, the fee is not considered paid and the application remains invalid.

Selection Process
GSSSB will select candidates through a single-stage competitive written examination followed by document verification. There is no interview round. Step 1 - Written Examination (MCQ-Based, CBRT/OMR) The exam is divided into two parts: Part Topics Marks Questions Part A Reasoning & Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension 90 90 Part B X-Ray Technician Technical Subject 120 120 Total 210 210 Total Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined. Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted per wrong answer. Question paper level: Commensurate with the required educational qualification. Languages: Part A questions in Gujarati and English; Gujarati comprehension in Gujarati only; English comprehension in English only. Part B in both Gujarati and English. Step 2 - Qualifying Standard Minimum qualifying marks: 40% in Part A and 40% in Part B - independently. No relaxation below 40% for any category. Step 3 - Provisional Merit List & Document Verification Candidates ranked approximately twice the number of vacancies (category-wise) in the provisional merit list will be called for document verification. Step 4 - Final Selection List The final merit list and waiting list are prepared based on marks obtained, with additional weightage for: Widows: 5% bonus marks added to MCQ/CBRT score (subject to proof of non-remarriage at appointment). Recognised Sports Persons (National/International, Inter-University, or AISSE level): 5% bonus marks added to MCQ/CBRT score (subject to valid certificate from competent authority).
