Selection Process

Selection for the GSSSB X-Ray Assistant post is based on a single-stage computer-based/OMR written examination followed by document verification, so candidates do not need to appear for multiple test stages. The exam consists of objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) split into Part-A and Part-B. Part Subject Marks Part-A Reasoning & Data Interpretation 30 Part-A Numerical/Quantitative Aptitude 30 Part-A Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension 30 Part-A Total - 90 Part-B Subject-related and job-relevant questions 120 Grand Total 210 Questions 210 Marks The combined duration for Part-A and Part-B is 3 hours (180 minutes), and the exam follows negative marking - 1/4th mark is deducted for every wrong answer. A minimum qualifying standard of 40% applies independently to both Part-A and Part-B for all categories, meaning candidates must clear both sections separately to remain in contention. After the exam, GSSSB will release a provisional answer key, invite objections, and then publish the final answer key followed by the provisional result. Roughly twice the number of vacancies per category will be called for document verification based on merit, after which the final selection list and waiting list will be published. While exact dates for the exam and result are not yet announced, candidates can expect this stage to follow a few months after the application window closes, based on GSSSB's usual recruitment timelines.
