Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the last date of application (25-06-2026). Only Indian Citizens or those with nationality as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 (Rule 7) are eligible to apply. Criteria Details Educational Qualification (i) Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized University/Institution; OR (ii) Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University/Institution with about 2 years experience as Junior Pharmacist in Government/Government Undertaking/Board or as Dispenser in hospital/dispensary or as Pharmacist/Medical Representative in a pharmaceutical company Computer Knowledge Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification (General) Rules, 1967. Certificate/Marksheet from any training institute, or Diploma/Degree/Certificate course in computer from a recognized university, or Computer as a subject in 10th/12th standard. If not available at the time of application, the candidate must produce the certificate before appointment. Language Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. Pharmacy Council Registration Candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to register with the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council as per the Pharmacy Act, 1948 at the time of appointment, if not already registered. Nationality Indian Citizen or as per Rule 7 of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. Security Bond The appointed candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond in the prescribed form and for the prescribed amount and period as determined by the Government.

Application Fee

All candidates must pay the examination fee online only through OJAS website. Fee payment last date is 28-06-2026 (23:59 hrs). Fee paid by candidates who appear for the examination will be refunded. Fee will NOT be refunded if the candidate does not appear for the examination or if the application is rejected. Candidates must obtain and preserve the fee receipt/e-receipt. Selection Process

Selection will be done through a single-stage Competitive Written Examination of objective-type MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) conducted via CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) or OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) method. The question paper will consist of two parts – Part-A and Part-B. Exam Pattern – Part A (General/Aptitude) Sr. Subject Marks 1 Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation 30 2 Numerical / Mathematical Aptitude 30 3 Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension 30 Total (Part-A) 90 Exam Pattern – Part B (Subject Specific) Sr. Subject Marks 1 Questions related to the concerned subject (Pharmacy) and its applications 120 Total (Part-B) 120 Total Questions Total Marks Duration Negative Marking 210 (90 in Part-A + 120 in Part-B) 210 (90 + 120) 3 Hours (180 Minutes) – Combined for both parts 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks separately in both Part-A and Part-B is mandatory for all categories. No relaxation below 40% will be given to any category. Scribe / Compensatory Time for PwBD: PwBD candidates with Benchmark Disability (as defined under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016) who have limitation in writing ability may avail scribe/compensatory time facility. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination is allowed for eligible PwBD candidates. Requests must be submitted to GSSSB at least 2 days before the exam via email: [email protected] with required certificates. Widow Candidates: Widow candidates who have not remarried will be awarded 5% bonus marks on total marks obtained in the written exam for priority in selection, subject to submission of required proof. If such proof is not produced, the 5% addition will be cancelled and merit redetermined. Sports Candidates: Candidates who have represented at National/International, Inter-University, or All India School Games Federation level in recognized sports will be awarded 5% bonus marks on marks obtained in the written exam for priority in selection, subject to production of required certificates from competent authority.
