Eligibility / Qualification
Nationality: Indian citizen / Subject of Nepal/Bhutan / Tibetan refugee (before 01.01.1962) / Person of Indian origin from specified countries (eligibility certificate required). Essential Educational Qualification (as on 01.08.2026) Post Name Educational Qualification Stenographer Grade C & D 12th Standard or equivalent from recognized Board/University. Stenography skill mandatory (tested in Skill Test).

Selection Process
Computer Based Test (CBT): 200 marks (objective; General Intelligence & Reasoning 50, GA 50, English 100); qualifying: 30% UR, 25% OBC/EWS, 20% others. Skill Test in Stenography (Qualifying): Grade C: 100 wpm (English/Hindi); Grade D: 80 wpm (English/Hindi) (10 min dictation; 40% UR/EWS, 35% others pass marks). Document Verification (DV) by User Departments. Final Merit: Based on CBT marks (category-wise); All India Service Liability. Pre-Employment Medical Exam (esp. for BRO posts with Physical Efficiency Test).
