Eligibility / Qualification
Eligibility for NBEMS Recruitment 2026 varies by post in terms of both qualification and age limit. Candidates must meet the essential educational qualification as on the closing date of the online application, i.e., 20 July 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India norms. Application Fee
The NBEMS application fee depends on the candidate's category. UR and OBC candidates need to pay a processing fee, while SC, ST, PwBD, and women candidates are exempt. Bank charges, if any, are payable separately by the candidate. Selection Process
Candidates wondering about the NBEMS selection process can note that it differs by post category. For Junior Accountant, Stenographer, and Junior Assistant, selection happens in two stages: a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Computer Knowledge/Skill Test. There is no interview for Group B and C posts. Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) The CBT consists of 200 objective-type questions worth 200 marks, to be completed in 180 minutes (3 hours). Each wrong answer carries a negative marking of 0.25 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates and 50% for all others. Five candidates per vacancy in each category are shortlisted based on Stage-I merit. The minimum qualifying marks for Stage-II are also 40% for reserved categories and 50% for others, and this stage covers Data Entry, Word Processing, Computer Operation, or Stenography depending on the post.
