Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the date of application. Only unmarried men and women fulfilling the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India are eligible. Any candidate found to be married or who marries while under training will be discharged from service and shall be liable to refund full training cost including pay, allowances and any other expenditure incurred by the Government. Criteria Details Nationality As per conditions of nationality laid down by the Government of India. Marital Status Unmarried men and women only. Candidates who marry while under training will be discharged and must refund all training costs. Educational Qualification Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent from any recognized Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII). JEE (Main) 2026 Requirement Must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2026 exam (for B.E./B.Tech). Call up for SSB will be issued on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2026 published by NTA. Candidates must fill their CRL Rank in the application. Medical Standards All candidates recommended by SSB must undergo medical examination applicable to 10+2 (B.Tech) entry. Candidates already declared medically fit for NDA/INA Jan 27 need not repeat medical examination. No relaxation in medical standards on any grounds. Change of medical hospital/centre is not permissible under any circumstances. Narcotics Use/possession of narcotics is banned. Candidates may be tested during SSB/medicals/training/service. If found using/possessing narcotics at any stage, candidate will be debarred from joining or removed from service.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on JEE (Main) 2026 CRL-based shortlisting, followed by SSB Interview, Medical Examination, and Police & Character Verification. Merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks and medical fitness. Candidates will be appointed subject to Police Verification, Character Verification, and availability of vacancies in the entry. Mere inclusion in the common merit list does not confer a vested right to appointment. Mere empanelment under no circumstances can be treated as final selection. Stage 1 - Shortlisting Based on JEE (Main) 2026 CRL Naval Headquarters reserves the right to fix the cut-off for shortlisting of applications for SSB based on JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2026. All candidates must fill their CRL Rank in the application. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their SSB interview schedule through email and SMS. Candidates must not change their email/mobile number until the selection process is over. Stage 2 - Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled at Bengaluru / Bhopal / Kolkata / Visakhapatnam from September 2026 onwards. Change of SSB Centre is not permissible under any circumstances. Candidates must download the call-up letter on receiving intimation from Naval Headquarters via SMS/email. AC 3-tier rail fare is admissible for SSB interview if appearing for the first time for this particular type of commission - candidates must bring a photocopy of the first page of passbook or cheque leaf with Name, A/C No., and IFSC details. No compensation is admissible in case of any injury sustained during SSB tests. Stage 3 - Medical Examination All candidates recommended by SSB must undergo medical examination as per standards applicable to 10+2 (B.Tech) entry. No relaxation in medical standards on any grounds. Candidates already declared medically fit for NDA/INA Jan 27 need not repeat medical examination. Change of medical hospital/centre is not permissible under any circumstances. Stage 4 - Common Merit List & Appointment Final merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks and medical fitness. Candidates will be appointed subject to Police Verification, Character Verification, and availability of vacancies. All vacancies are to be filled as per service requirement and statutory guidelines issued from time to time.
