Students must be pursuing a full-time Graduate, Post Graduate or higher degree from a recognised institute in India or abroad in specified disciplines to be eligible for FSSAI Internship 2026. Food & Technical Streams: PG Degree / B.Tech / BE in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural / Horticultural Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, Food Safety & Quality Assurance. Management & Related Fields: Business Administration & Management including Policy, Finance, Taxation, Marketing, HR, Economics, Statistics, ICT, Entrepreneurship and related areas. Media & Communication: PG Diploma / Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication and Public Relations. IT & Computer Science: B.E. / B.Tech (only 3rd & 4th year) in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related streams. Other Disciplines: PG Degree / Diploma in Public Policy / Public Administration (for FSSAI HQ only), Bachelor / Master of Law, Bachelor of Commerce & equivalent courses. Students who have already completed the above courses are not eligible to apply for the FSSAI Internship April–June 2026.

The FSSAI Internship 2026 selection process is merit-based and carried out through online scrutiny of applications by the concerned Nodal Officers at FSSAI (HQ), Regional Offices and National Food Laboratories. Online Application: Interested and eligible students must submit the FSSAI Internship application form in the prescribed online format within the given timeline. Short Write-up / Presentation: Candidates may be required to submit a short write-up or presentation on a relevant topic in the application portal as part of the selection process. Scrutiny by Nodal Officers: All applications are scrutinized by Nodal Officers of the respective divisions/locations based on eligibility, academic background and suitability for available domains. Publication of Shortlisted List: The final list of selected candidates, along with their date of joining and internship tenure, is published on the FSSAI website at fssai.gov.in/[email protected]. Document Verification at Joining: At the time of joining, selected interns must produce a letter from their institute, No Objection Certificate (NOC), character certificate and proof of educational qualifications as mentioned in the application.
