Eligibility / Qualification

Eligibility for DTU Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is qualification-based rather than age-based, since the notification prescribes a specific diploma or degree for each trade instead of a common minimum qualification. Candidates need to check the required educational qualification against their applied trade before submitting the form. Qualification-wise Eligibility Diploma Apprentices need a relevant Diploma such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Environmental, ECE, or IT/CS Engineering, while Graduate Apprentices need a relevant Bachelor's degree such as B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc., or Bachelor in Library Science depending on the trade applied for. Candidates applying for posts like Applied Mathematics or Applied Physics need a Graduate/Diploma with computer knowledge or an MSc/B.Sc. (PCM) respectively, as listed in the trade-wise vacancy table above. NATS Registration Requirement All candidates applying for DTU Apprenticeship 2026-27 must first register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal at nats.education.gov.in, since applications without NATS registration will not be accepted. This registration is a mandatory prerequisite and must be completed before submitting the physical application form to DTU. Selection Process

Selection for DTU Apprenticeship Trainees 2026-27 is based on screening of applications followed by a document verification interview, rather than a written examination. Shortlisted candidates are required to appear in person with original documents for final verification before engagement. NATS Portal Registration – Candidates register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal before applying. Application Submission – The filled application form with self-attested documents is sent by post to DTU before 31 July 2026. Screening of Applications – DTU shortlists eligible candidates based on the qualification prescribed for each trade. Document Verification/Interview – Shortlisted candidates carry original and photocopies of all relevant documents for verification at the time of interview. Engagement as Apprentice – Selected candidates are engaged as Apprentice Trainees for a period of one year.
