Eligibility / Qualification
Eligibility for DCB Recruitment 2026 depends on two things - the educational qualification specific to each post and a common age bracket of 21-30 years, both verified as on the closing date of 14 August 2026. Candidates must also be Indian citizens and should not apply unless they already hold the essential qualification by the cut-off date, since the notification clearly states that those lacking it "need not apply." Post-wise Educational Qualification Assistant Engineer (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University/Institute. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University/Institute. Junior Engineer (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university, OR a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised University/Board/Institution. Junior Engineer (Electrical): Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university, OR a three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised University/Board/Institution. Age Limit and Relaxation The base age limit for all four posts is 21 to 30 years, calculated as on the closing date of 14 August 2026. Application Fee
The application fee structure for this recruitment is straightforward, with a flat charge for general applicants and a wide list of exemptions. Selection Process
Selection for all four posts - Assistant Engineer (Civil), Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), Junior Engineer (Civil), and Junior Engineer (Electrical) - follows a single-stage process built entirely around a written test. There is no interview and no skill test, which means the final merit list is generated purely from CBT scores, followed by document verification and a medical fitness check for shortlisted candidates. Online Application (15 July 2026 - 14 August 2026): Candidates submit forms and upload documents. Admit Card Release: Downloadable from the official website once exam dates are notified. Computer Based Test (CBT): 120 MCQs, 120 marks, 120-minute duration, conducted in Hindi and English (except the English Comprehension section). Answer Key & Objections: Provisional answer keys are released online; objections are accepted only through the prescribed online mechanism within the notified window. Result/Merit List: Prepared based on final CBT scores; tie-breaks go first to the older candidate, then alphabetically by first name. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates produce original certificates, self-attested copies, Admit Card, and two passport photos at the DCB office in Delhi Cantt. Medical Fitness Test: Conducted by the Medical Officer, Cantonment General Hospital, Delhi Cantt. Final Appointment: Selected candidates join on a 2-year provisional/probationary period before becoming permanent. Negative marking applies during the CBT: 0.33 marks are deducted for every wrong answer, while unattempted questions carry no penalty.
