Selection Process

The selection process consists of 2 successive stages - Stage 1 (Written Examination) and Stage 2 (Interview/Personality Test). Candidates shortlisted from the written examination (approximately 3 times the number of vacancies per subject category) will be called for interview. Final merit list is prepared based on combined marks of both stages. Stage 1 - Written Examination Paper Subject Type Questions Marks Duration Paper I General Studies Objective MCQ 150 300 2:30 Hours Paper II Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical - any one) Objective MCQ 150 300 2:30 Hours Paper I will be bilingual (Hindi and English); Paper II will be in English only. No negative marking. Examination may be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) depending on number of applicants. Exam Centres: Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and Jagdalpur (subject to change based on applications received). Stage 2 - Interview / Personality Test: 75 Marks (No minimum qualifying marks for interview) If Direct Interview (without written exam) - 100 Marks total (as per CGPSC Procedure Rules 2014) Qualifying Marks - Written Examination Category Minimum Qualifying Marks Unreserved (UR) Minimum 40% in each paper SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Minimum 30% in each paper If Direct Interview Only: Category Minimum Qualifying Marks Unreserved (UR) Minimum 33 marks out of 100 SC / ST / OBC Minimum 23 marks out of 100 Shortlisting for Interview: Approximately 3 times the number of vacancies per engineering discipline. Tie-Breaking Rules 1st Tie-Break Higher total marks in written examination + interview 2nd Tie-Break Higher age (older candidate preferred)
