Eligibility / Qualification
Educational Qualification – Technician (Bench Chemist) D.Pharma or B.Pharma from a recognized university. Six (6) months of work experience in drug testing and analysis is mandatory for candidates from both academic qualification categories (D.Pharma as well as B.Pharma). Educational Qualification – Assistant Bacteriologist M.D. in Microbiology, or M.Sc. in Microbiology, or M.Pharma from a recognized university. Government servants with three years of continuous regular service get a 5-year age relaxation. Candidates working on contract in non-private laboratories in Bihar (including central/state government, municipal, panchayati raj, and defence laboratories) may get age relaxation equal to the duration of their contractual engagement, up to a maximum limit, calculated as on the 01.08.2026 cut-off. Only one type of age relaxation is admissible to any candidate.
Application Fee
Category Application Fee All Categories (both posts) ₹100/- (as per GAD resolution no. 15568 dated 21.08.2025) Payment must be made only in online mode through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Bank charges applicable on the online payment mode will be levied separately by the bank in addition to the application fee. Fee once paid is non-refundable. Candidates applying for both posts must pay the fee separately for each application.

Selection Process
Selection for both posts will be made on the basis of a Computer Based Test (CBT) and work experience, as per the following distribution: Component Marks Written Competitive Examination (CBT) 75 Work Experience (max 5 marks/year, up to 25 marks) 25 Total 100 The written exam will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 400 marks, in both Hindi and English. Exam duration: 2 hours. 4 marks awarded per correct answer; 1 mark deducted per wrong answer (negative marking applicable). The exam may be conducted in multiple shifts, with results prepared using a normalization process. Minimum qualifying marks: General category – 40%, BC – 36.5%, EBC – 34%, SC/ST/Women/PwD – 32%. Candidates residing outside Bihar (including women and PwD candidates) must secure the General category minimum of 40%. Candidates claiming work experience marks must have qualified the written exam; experience marks are added only after successful document verification.
