Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on 01-08-2026 (the date for age calculation). Reservation benefits are available only to original residents of Bihar - candidates residing outside Bihar are not eligible for reservation. Candidates outside Bihar can apply under the Unreserved (UR) category only. A permanent residential address proof is mandatory for reservation claims. The educational qualification must be from a recognized University. Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum qualification on the closing date of application submission; admission at all stages is provisional and subject to eligibility verification. Special educational qualifications apply for certain posts (Table-II) as noted below. Application Fee
Candidates applying for the 72nd CCE are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee as specified below. Payment must be made online through the BPSC application portal. Fee paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates who do not provide Aadhaar number in the online application are required to pay an additional Biometric fee of Rs. 200/- per examination. Selection Process
The selection process for BPSC 72nd CCE Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 (three) successive stages - Preliminary Examination (Part-1), Main (Written) Examination (Part-2), and Personality Test/Interview (Part-3), followed by a Medical Examination. The Preliminary Examination is a qualifying/screening test only - marks obtained in it will not be counted for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains will be called for Personality Test at 2.5 times the number of vacancies (category-wise). Candidates must mandatorily select their service/post preference in the Main Exam online application - no post/service preference claim will be entertained later.
