Eligibility / Qualification

Eligibility requirements, including educational qualification and experience, vary by post. Only Indian citizens can apply. Candidates who are permanent residents of Assam should apply only for posts other than Senior Scientist and Head (Sl. No. 1). Educational Qualification - Post Wise Post Name Essential Qualification Senior Scientist and Head Doctoral degree in the relevant field of Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries/Community Science/Horticulture/Sericulture with 8 years' experience (excluding the period spent obtaining the Ph.D.) as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or an equivalent position in Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) with grade pay of Rs. 5,400/6,000/7,000/8,000 (6th CPC), with contributions to research/teaching/extension education evidenced by published work/innovations and impact. Desirable: specialization in implementing extension education programmes. Subject Matter Specialist (all disciplines) Master's degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fisheries Science from a recognized University. Farm Manager Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fishery Science/Horticulture/Sericulture from a recognized University. Programme Assistant (Lab. Technician) Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/Animal Science/Fishery Science/Community Science/Horticulture/Sericulture from a recognized University. Programme Assistant (Computer) Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science/Computer Application/Information Technology) or equivalent from a recognized University. Assistant Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University with 5 years' work experience in Accounts and establishment. Stenographer Grade-III Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with working knowledge of computer (minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application). Candidates must also clear a dictation test in English at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes and transcribe it on computer within 50 minutes. Driver Passed HSLC or equivalent examination from a recognized board; driving license for both heavy and light vehicles (subject to a practical skill test); two years' driving experience. Desirable: one-year trade certificate from ITI and experience in motor mechanic work. Supporting Staff - Grade I Matriculation or equivalent pass, or ITI pass.
