Eligibility / Qualification
Educational Qualification The candidate must possess General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc (Nursing) qualification from a recognised institution as on the date of this notification. Candidates must also hold a valid registration certificate with A.P.N.M.C or any other council constituted under the relevant rules for the specific course. The marks obtained in GNM / B.Sc (Nursing) qualification will be taken for reckoning weightage for contract/outsource/honorarium service and for waiting period weightage after completion of the qualification. If an applicant possesses an equivalent qualification, they must enclose a copy of the Government orders to that effect along with the application; failing which the application will be rejected. Age Limit (as on 01.03.2026) The upper age limit for the post of Staff Nurse is 42 years as on 01.03.2026. Age relaxations are as follows. Category Age Relaxation SC / ST / BC / EWS 5 years Ex-Servicemen 3 years in addition to the length of service in armed forces Differently Abled Persons 10 years Maximum age with all relaxations combined 52 years
Application Fee
Applicants must enclose a Demand Draft (DD) towards the application processing fee in favour of the Regional Director of Medical & Health Services of the concerned Zone (e.g., DD in favour of Regional Director Medical & Health Services, Guntur for Zone III applicants). Selection Process
Selection will be based on a merit list prepared out of a total of 100 marks. The merit criteria are as follows. Academic Marks (75%): 75% weightage will be allocated for the aggregate marks obtained in all years of the qualifying examination (GNM / B.Sc Nursing) or equivalent qualification. Experience Weightage (up to 10 marks): 1.0 mark per completed year after acquiring the requisite qualification as mentioned in the pass certificate. Weightage will be reckoned up to the date of notification as per Govt. Memo No. 4274/D1/2013, HM&FW (D1) Dept., Dt. 10.07.2014. Contract / Outsourcing / Honorarium Service Weightage (up to 15%): Candidates working on contract/outsourcing/honorarium basis including COVID-19 service will be given up to 15% weightage subject to satisfactory service certified by the competent authority. COVID-19 weightage is 0.8 marks per completed month for service less than 6 months. Weightage based on Working Area: 2.5 marks per six months in Tribal Area; 2.0 marks per six months in Rural Area; 1.0 mark per six months in Urban Area. CHOs (MLHPs) Weightage: As per G.O.RT.No.108, HM&FW(E1), service rendered in the cadre of CHOs (MLHPs) working in Village Health Clinics will also be considered for service weightage for future recruitment of Staff Nurse on contract basis. The merit list of this notification is valid for one year from the date of publishing on the website. The Selection Committee reserves the right to terminate contract services at any time with one month's notice or as per Government directions.
