Eligibility / Qualification
Local Candidate (Domicile) Eligibility Each DCCB recruits only for its own district's requirements, so candidates must be local to the erstwhile district of the post they are applying for. For example, only candidates local to erstwhile Chittoor district can apply for Chittoor DCCB posts, and only candidates local to erstwhile Kadapa district can apply for Kadapa DCCB posts, and so on for Nellore, Prakasam, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram. Local status is generally determined based on either of the following: Having studied in an educational institution in the local area for at least 4 consecutive academic years up to the SSC (or equivalent) examination; or Having resided in the local area for at least 4 years immediately preceding the SSC (or equivalent) examination, if not covered under the study criterion above. Candidates who do not meet the 4-year local criterion may still be considered local under a 7-year study/residence criterion within the state, as detailed in the respective official notification. APCOB Educational Qualification 2026 Post Educational Qualification (as on 24.07.2026) Staff Assistant Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, with knowledge of English, proficiency in Telugu, and working knowledge of computers. Assistant Manager First class graduation in any discipline, OR high second class in Commerce (aggregate 55% and above), OR a postgraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with knowledge of English, proficiency in Telugu, and working knowledge of computers. Staff Assistant (PACS in-service candidates only) Intermediate plus JDC/HDC/DCRS, or graduation from a recognized university, along with a minimum of 10 years of service in a PACS affiliated to the concerned DCCB as on the date of notification. APCOB Age Limit 2026 The age of the candidate is reckoned as on 01.06.2026. Application Fee
The application fee/intimation charges (non-refundable) are the same across all six DCCBs and both posts, and must be paid online only. Category Fee (Inclusive of GST) SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen ₹590 OC / BC / EWS ₹826 Bank transaction charges for online payment are additional and must be borne by the candidate, including those applying under reserved categories. Payment can be made using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, UPI, or mobile wallets.

Selection Process
Selection to both Staff Assistant and Assistant Manager posts (open market category) is based purely on performance in the Online Written Test, followed by document verification and a medical fitness check. There is no interview for either post. The broad stages are: Stage 1: Online Written Examination Stage 2: Document Verification Stage 3: Medical Fitness Examination Stage 4: Final Appointment (subject to executing the service bond) APCOB Exam Pattern 2026 (Open Market Candidates) The online test for Staff Assistant and Assistant Manager (open market candidates) will be conducted in English, carries 200 marks, and has a composite duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer; unattempted questions carry no penalty.
