Eligibility follows the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications In Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025, of the National Medical Commission (NMC). Post Academic Qualification Teaching/Research Experience Registration Professor MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject Associate Professor in the subject for 3 years at a recognized medical institution (or equivalent Armed Forces specialist experience); at least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (among first three authors); completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research; must undergo Basic Course in Medical Education where applicable. A Senior Consultant with 3 years as PG teacher of a broad/super specialty at an NBE-recognized government institute is also eligible. MBBS and additional qualification registered with Telangana Medical Council Associate Professor MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject Assistant Professor in the subject for 4 years at a recognized medical institution, or 5 years if appointed directly as Assistant Professor in a government institution (or equivalent Armed Forces specialist experience); at least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor (among first three authors); completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research; must undergo Basic Course in Medical Education where applicable. A non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with a PG medical degree and 10 years' experience in at least a 220-bedded government hospital is also eligible, subject to completing both basic courses within two years. MBBS and additional qualification registered with Telangana Medical Council Assistant Professor MD/MS in the concerned subject One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject at a recognized medical institution (relaxed for those already appointed directly as Assistant Professor before these regulations; Tutor or Demonstrator experience with the relevant PG qualification may count as equivalent); or Armed Forces specialist routes; or a non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with 2 years' experience in a 220+ bed government hospital; or diploma holders appointed as Senior Resident before 08-06-2017 with 4 years' total experience; or diploma holders with 6 years' cumulative experience as Specialist/Medical Officer in a government medical institution. MBBS and additional qualification registered with Telangana Medical Council Tutor MBBS or equivalent degree - MBBS registered with Telangana Medical Council Junior Resident MBBS or equivalent degree - MBBS registered with Telangana Medical Council Outside-state candidates must get their qualification registered with the Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection, for their appointment to be confirmed. Marks obtained in the MD/MS/DNB PG degree for Assistant Professor posts; marks obtained in MBBS for Tutor and Junior Resident posts (if marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam, 50% marks will be considered) For Professor and Associate Professor posts, duration of teaching experience in that cadre is considered DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest TEQ Regulations 2025 of the NMC Selection is nationwide, with first preference given to local candidates; candidates from other states will be considered if local candidates are not available Candidates due to complete Senior Residency in the first week of December 2026 are eligible, if qualified candidates are otherwise unavailable
