Eligibility / Qualification

General Departments (Except Emergency Medicine) Post Academic Qualification Key Experience Requirement Professor PG degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the subject, or M.Sc with Ph.D in Medical Microbiology/Pharmacology (as applicable) 3 years as Associate Professor in a recognised medical institution; at least 2 research publications as Associate Professor; Basic Course in Biomedical Research completed Associate Professor PG degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the subject, or M.Sc with Ph.D in Medical Microbiology/Pharmacology (as applicable) 4 years as Assistant Professor (5 years if directly appointed in a Government medical institution); at least 2 research publications as Assistant Professor; Basic Course in Biomedical Research completed Assistant Professor PG degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the subject, or M.Sc with Ph.D in Medical Microbiology/Pharmacology (as applicable) 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognised medical institution (relaxable/alternate routes specified for Tutors, Demonstrators, non-teaching Consultants and Diploma holders, as per notification) Emergency Medicine Department Post Academic Qualification Key Experience Requirement Professor PG (MD/MS/DNB) in Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/Anaesthesia/Respiratory Medicine/General Surgery/Orthopaedics 3 years as Associate Professor + 3 years special training in the specialty; at least 4 research publications (2 as Associate Professor); NMC-recognised Medical Education & Biomedical Research courses completed Associate Professor PG (MD/MS/DNB) in Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/Anaesthesia/Respiratory Medicine/General Surgery/Orthopaedics 4 years as Assistant Professor + 3 years special training in the specialty; at least 2 research publications; Medical Education & Biomedical Research courses completed Assistant Professor PG (MD/MS/DNB) in Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/Anaesthesia/Respiratory Medicine/General Surgery/Orthopaedics 3 years special training in the specialty; DNB qualification equivalence conditions as specified in the notification Super-specialty Departments (D.M./M.Ch) For super-specialty subjects, candidates require D.M./DNB/DrNB or M.Ch/DNB/DrNB in the concerned super specialty, with experience as Assistant/Associate Professor in the subject and completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research, as detailed in the official notification. Alternate qualification routes during the transition period apply for Critical Care Medicine and Medical Oncology as specified in the notification. Retired Professors/Faculty from Government institutes and Defence Personnel may apply for the post of Professor, as per NMC Guidelines. Selection Process

This is a contractual faculty appointment; there is no written examination. Selection is based on scrutiny of qualifications, experience and publications, followed by a personal interview. Screening/shortlisting of applications based on the essential academic qualification and experience prescribed for each post as per NMC Guidelines. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Personal Interview at GIMS, Greater Noida. Candidates who have applied in advance may submit their No Objection Certificate (NOC)/forwarding letter from their current employer up to the date of the interview. The Director, GIMS reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason. Exact interview date, venue, and further stages (if any) are not specified in the official notification and will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.
