Eligibility / Qualification

(or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. Relaxed norms (45% + B.Ed.) apply where prescribed under NCTE Regulations 2002/2007. Paper-II (Higher Secondary) Post-graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject from a recognized university, along with a B.Ed. (or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. Relaxed norms (45% + B.Ed., or 55% + integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.) apply as prescribed. Separate detailed qualification norms (Parishisht-1 for Paper-I and Parishisht-2 for Paper-II) apply for Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Dance, and Special School Teacher categories, including sports-quota and NCC-linked pathways. Candidates should verify the exact clause applicable to their subject in the official notification. Citizenship The candidate must be a citizen of India. Important: Any dispute regarding recognition of a qualification/institution, or equivalence of a degree, will be decided by the Department in consultation with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and that decision will be final.
