Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates who wish to apply for APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher Recruitment 2026 must carefully check the APPSC TGT Eligibility Criteria 2026 in terms of nationality, age limit and educational qualification. Only those applicants who fully meet the APPSC TGT eligibility conditions as on the last date of application will be considered for the Trained Graduate Teacher Examination 2026. APPSC TGT Age Limit 2026 Minimum Age: 21 years Maximum Age: 35 years as on 27th April 2026 (last date for receipt of online application) Upper age limit is relaxable for APST, PwBD and other categories as per Government of Arunachal Pradesh rules and latest orders. APPSC TGT Educational Qualification 2026 Candidates must possess a Second‑Class Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a recognised university. The applicant must have studied the concerned subject in all years/semesters of the Bachelor’s Degree programme, and the final year/semester marksheet must clearly show the subject name and marks. A B.Ed (General) degree from an NCTE recognised institute is mandatory; only General B.Ed is acceptable for teaching Classes IX–X as per the Education Department instructions. B.Ed (Special Education) is not treated as an alternative professional qualification for APPSC TGT (Secondary) posts. The minimum duration of the B.Ed programme should be two years including mandatory school internship; however, one‑year B.Ed degrees obtained before 2015 are also considered eligible. Candidates who have completed a Four‑Year Integrated Degree Programme with B.Ed (General) are eligible, provided they meet the subject‑specific requirements. Students who are still in the final year/final semester of Bachelor’s Degree or B.Ed are not eligible to apply for APPSC TGT 2026. Each candidate is allowed to apply for only one TGT (Secondary) post/subject under this recruitment. Only Indian citizens fulfilling the above APPSC TGT Eligibility Criteria 2026 in terms of age, essential educational qualification and professional B.Ed degree should submit the APPSC TGT online application form on appsc.gov.in.

Application Fee

Candidates applying for the APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher Recruitment 2026 must pay the prescribed application fee online while submitting the APPSC TGT Application Form 2026. The APPSC TGT exam fee is different for APST, other category candidates and PwBD candidates as per the official advertisement. Selection Process

The APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher Recruitment 2026 selection process is conducted in two main stages – a Written Examination (Objective) followed by Viva‑Voce and Classroom Teaching. Candidates must qualify the APPSC TGT Written Exam 2026 by securing the prescribed minimum marks to be shortlisted for the APPSC TGT Viva‑Voce round. Stage 1 – APPSC TGT Written Examination 2026 The APPSC TGT Written Examination (Objective) consists of two parts – a General paper and a Concerned Subject paper, together carrying a total of 450 marks. Paper 1 – General English, General Studies, Aptitude & Pedagogy (Objective): 150 marks. Paper 2 – Concerned Subject (Objective): 300 marks in the relevant TGT subject (e.g. English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, etc.). There is negative marking in the APPSC TGT exam – 1/6th of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted for each wrong answer. To qualify the written exam, a candidate must secure at least the minimum qualifying marks prescribed in the notification (overall aggregate as well as subject‑wise), only then they will be considered for the next stage of the APPSC TGT selection process 2026. Stage 2 – APPSC TGT Viva‑Voce & Classroom Teaching 2026 Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be shortlisted in order of merit in a ratio of about 3 times the number of advertised TGT vacancies for the Viva‑Voce and Classroom Teaching test. The APPSC TGT Viva‑Voce and Classroom Teaching carries 50 marks and is conducted on the premises of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. This stage evaluates the candidate’s subject knowledge, teaching skills, communication ability, classroom handling and overall suitability for the Trained Graduate Teacher post. Final Merit List – APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher 2026 The final selection for APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher Recruitment 2026 is made on the basis of total marks obtained out of 500 marks (450 marks in Written Examination + 50 marks in Viva‑Voce & Classroom Teaching). Candidates who fail to meet the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam or are found ineligible at document verification will not be considered for final appointment as APPSC TGT, even if they appeared in the examination.
