Eligibility / Qualification

Both medical and non-medical candidates can apply for eligible disciplines. AIIMS Guwahati Educational Qualification Post Qualification and Experience (Medical Candidates) Professor MBBS with MD/MS (or equivalent) and/or M.Ch./D.M. in the relevant super-speciality, with 11 to 14 years of teaching/research experience depending on the qualifying degree. Additional Professor Same basic qualification as Professor, with 7 to 10 years of teaching/research experience depending on the qualifying degree. Associate Professor Same basic qualification as Professor, with 3 to 6 years of teaching/research experience depending on the qualifying degree. Assistant Professor Same basic qualification as Professor, with 0 to 3 years of teaching/research experience depending on the qualifying degree. For non-medical candidates (Anatomy, Pharmacology, Microbiology, etc.), the requirement is a postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline along with a Doctorate degree from a recognized university, with teaching/research experience ranging from 3 years (Assistant Professor) to 14 years (Professor) depending on the post applied for. Candidates holding a DNB qualification must submit documentary evidence of DNB equivalence with MD/MS/DM/M.Ch as per the NMC (formerly MCI) notification dated 31.10.2018. Depending on the training institution, DNB candidates may need 1 to 2 years of additional experience. Selection Process
Screening of applications is done on the basis of the bio-data submitted by candidates. If a large number of candidates apply for a post, a screening test may be conducted to shortlist candidates for interview. Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview, where they must produce all original documents in support of the details furnished in their application. Candidates may also be required to submit an affidavit or declaration as decided by AIIMS Guwahati at the time of interview. Interviews will be held at AIIMS Guwahati or any other venue decided by the Executive Director. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. The prescribed qualification is the minimum requirement; merely possessing it does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview or selection.
