SalaryFitter, Machinist, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Turner, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic: Stipend of ₹12,261/- per month during the period of apprenticeship training. CNC Programming cum-Operator (COE Group): Stipend of ₹10,899/- per month during the period of apprenticeship training. Stipend rates are as per extant rules amended from time to time. Note: As per the Act, it is not obligatory on the part of the Railways to offer any employment to the Apprentices on completion of their Apprenticeship training. The Act Apprentices imparted training in Railway establishments will have no claim to seek employment on Railways on the basis of such training.

Application Fee

Application Fee: ₹100/- (One Hundred only) as processing fee in the form of an Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Demand Draft from any Nationalised Bank, drawn in favour of 'Principal Financial Adviser / Rail Wheel Factory'. Exempted Categories: No fee is required to be paid by SC / ST / Physically Handicapped / Women candidates. Applications not accompanied with the processing fee, wherever required, will be summarily rejected. The IPO/DD instruments should not have been issued earlier to the date of issue of this Notification (28.02.2026). The processing fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of merit list prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in 10th Std / Matriculation or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For the purpose of calculation of percentage of marks in 10th Std, marks obtained by the candidates in all the subjects as indicated in the said marks sheet will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects. Tie-breaking Rule: In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. In case dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th Std / Matriculation or its equivalent examination earlier shall be considered first. A final merit list would be prepared equal to the number of designated trades proposed to be filled up, duly ensuring reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen candidates, in descending order of percentage of marks obtained. Candidates finally enlisted to undergo training would be subjected to verification of original testimonials. Medical Fitness: Candidates must satisfy minimum standards of physical fitness as prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time. The selected candidates will have to submit a prescribed medical examination certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-E) before their engagement. Physical fitness will be certified by a government authorized Doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital.
