Eligibility / Qualification
SSB Sub-Inspector eligibility criteria include nationality, age limit, educational qualification and other conditions. All conditions must be fulfilled as on the closing date of application. Nationality Only Indian citizens (subjects of Nepal or Bhutan are eligible with prior permission of Central Government). Age Limit Not exceeding 30 years (as on closing date of online application) Age Relaxation SC/ST: 5 years OBC: 3 years Ex-Servicemen: As per rules Departmental Candidates: Up to 5/8/10 years (as per category) J&K/Ladakh domiciles and 1984 riot victims dependents: As per rules

Selection Process
The SSB Sub-Inspector Selection Process 2026 comprises multiple stages, and only those candidates who qualify each stage as per SSB norms will be considered for final appointment. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Only for Sub Inspector (Communication) – Male: 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec; Female: 800 m in 4 min. Ex-Servicemen exempted. Physical Standard Test (PST): Height & chest measurement as per category and region-wise standards. Written Examination: Computer Based Test (CBT) of 150 marks (3 hours) – Part-I (General Knowledge, Maths, Reasoning, English/Hindi – 50 marks) & Part-II (Technical Subject – 100 marks). Documentation & Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Verification of documents followed by medical examination as per SSB medical standards. Review Medical Examination (RME): If required.
