Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the cut-off date. Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible to apply. All qualifications must be from AICTE-recognised Polytechnic Institutes. Agniveer (Apprentice) - Engineering & Electrical Streams Criteria Details Essential Educational Qualification Passed Matriculation Examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India AND completed a 3-year Diploma course from an AICTE-recognised Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in any of the qualifying diploma trades (Engineering or Electrical as applicable). Marital Status Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. Candidates must give a certificate of being 'unmarried' at the time of enrolment. Agniveers will not be permitted to marry during their entire 4-year tenure. A candidate will be dismissed from service if he marries during tenure or is found to be already married despite giving an unmarried certificate. Nationality Indian male citizens only. Preferential Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extra-curricular activities is desirable. In case of unsuccessful payment (money deducted but admit card not generated), wait 7 working days for automatic refund.

Selection Process

Stage 1 - INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) Separate INET exams will be conducted for Electrical and Engineering entries. INET 2/2026 will be conducted in August 2026 with SSC as Exam Partner. Parameter Details Mode Computer-based Total Questions 100 questions of 1 mark each Language Bilingual - Hindi & English Type Objective / Multiple Choice Sections English & General Awareness, Science, Mathematics, and Diploma (Trade Specific) Duration 1 Hour Negative Marking 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer Passing Criteria Must pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. Indian Navy reserves the right to determine pass marks in each section and in aggregate. Centre Allocation At the discretion of the Indian Navy; state preference to be indicated by candidate Stage 2 - Physical Fitness Test (PFT) Qualifying in PFT is mandatory for selection. Candidates undergoing PFT do so at their own risk. Candidates found medically unfit may appeal within 05 days at a designated Military Hospital allocated by the Indian Navy. Medical fitness certificates from hospitals other than designated Military Hospitals will not be considered. No second appeal is permissible. Stage 3 - Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka Pre-enrolment medical formalities of all selected candidates will be conducted at INS Chilka, Odisha. Induction is subject to qualifying in Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination. Candidates not qualifying will be rejected.
