Candidates must fulfil the following IRB GD Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026 as per the APSSB Special Recruitment Drive notification for Uniformed Services. Parameter IRB GD Constable Eligibility 2026 Nationality Applicant must be a citizen of India and must fulfil all conditions as on the closing date of application (10 April 2026). Educational Qualification Class 10th (Matric) pass from a recognised board for all Constable, Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts. Constable Band (IRBn): 10th pass with knowledge of playing band. Constable Bugler (IRBn): 10th pass with knowledge of playing bugle. Age Limit – Constable Posts (Post Code 5/26, 6/26, 7/26, 8/26, 9/26) 18 to 22 years as on 10 April 2026. Age Limit – Fireman & Special Tiger Guard (Post Code 10/26 & 11/26) 18 to 32 years as on 10 April 2026. Age Relaxation APST candidates: Upper age relaxable by 5 years. Ex-Servicemen: Period of service in Armed Forces can be deducted from actual age; if resultant age does not exceed upper limit by more than 3 years, candidate is eligible. One-time extra age relaxation is applicable only for Post Codes 5/26, 6/26, 8/26 & 9/26 for candidates who appeared in APSSB Constable written exam dated 13.07.2025. Physical Standards – Height (Male) General: 165 cm APST (other than Tirap, Changlang & Longding): 160 cm APST (Tirap / Changlang / Longding districts): 152 cm APST Ex-Servicemen: 157 cm Physical Standards – Chest (Male) All categories: 79 cm (normal) and 84 cm (expanded). Vision Standards Distant vision: better eye 6/6 (corrected), worse eye 6/12 (corrected); near vision J1/J2 (corrected); no colour blindness and must qualify medical fitness test. Other Requirements Candidates must qualify Physical Efficiency Test (100 m, 1500 m, high jump, long jump) and, where applicable, trade test (band/bugle) as per APSSB norms.

Stage I – Written Examination (Objective Type MCQ): All eligible candidates will appear for a 2‑hour written exam of 200 marks covering General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability and Test of English Language & Comprehension; candidates must score at least 33% aggregate marks to qualify. Stage II – Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Shortlisted candidates will undergo height and chest measurement followed by PET events such as 100 m and 1500 m race, high jump and long jump; only those meeting prescribed standards and timings will be considered further. Stage III – Trade Test / Medical Fitness (as applicable): For Constable Band and Constable Bugler posts, a trade test in playing band/bugle will be conducted, and all candidates must also qualify the medical fitness test including eye‑sight norms and absence of colour blindness. Final Merit List: The final IRB GD Constable merit list 2026 will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination, subject to qualifying PST, PET, trade test and medical examination, and considering reservation rules for APST, UR and Ex‑Servicemen categories. Document Verification: Before appointment, candidates must produce original certificates for age, education, category, experience (if any) and other claims; any mismatch or false information will lead to cancellation of candidature.
