The selection process for ITBP Assistant Commandant (Engineer) is comprehensive and multi-staged, designed to assess physical fitness, academic knowledge, and overall personality. All stages are qualifying/evaluative, and candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next. The process begins with a Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by a Written Examination (two papers), Document Verification, a Personal Interview/Personality Test, Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and finally a Review Medical Examination (RME) for those declared unfit in DME.
