Eligibility / Qualification

Application Fee
The application fee must be paid online only through the payment gateway available at the official ITBP recruitment website. Payment through any other mode will not be accepted and applications submitted with alternate payment modes will be summarily rejected. The fee once paid is non-refundable under all circumstances, including in the event of cancellation of notified vacancies. SC/ST candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and female candidates are fully exempted from the application fee. Candidates are advised to complete the payment process carefully and retain the payment confirmation for their records. Selection Process
The selection process for ITBP Assistant Commandant (Engineer) is comprehensive and multi-staged, designed to assess physical fitness, academic knowledge, and overall personality. All stages are qualifying/evaluative, and candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next. The process begins with a Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by a Written Examination (two papers), Document Verification, a Personal Interview/Personality Test, Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and finally a Review Medical Examination (RME) for those declared unfit in DME. The final merit list is prepared based on combined marks of the Written Examination and Interview. Biometric enrolment is mandatory at the PST/PET stage and may be verified at any subsequent stage. Candidates must carry a clear printed copy of their online application form and admit card to enter the PST/PET venue. Stage-wise Selection Process: Stage Details 1.
