Eligibility / Qualification
Eligibility differs by post. Candidates must possess the qualification shown below as on the last date of application, from a university/institution recognised by the Government, along with adequate knowledge of computers and of Gujarati and Hindi (or Gujarati/Hindi, per the specific post). Post Name Qualification & Experience Requirements Executive Engineer (Civil) B.E. (Civil)/B.Tech (Civil) from a recognised university (candidates with a higher relevant qualification at equal qualifying merit will be given preference); Experience: 3 years' relevant Class-1 experience or 5 years' relevant Class-2 experience in a Government/semi-Government/Board/Corporation, or a company registered under the Companies Act, 2013; knowledge of computers; sufficient knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi Sanitary Sub Inspector Graduate (any faculty) from a recognised university, plus a Diploma course in Sanitary Inspector from a Government-recognised institution; knowledge of computers; sufficient knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi Multi Purpose Health Worker (Male) (Urban Malaria) Diploma course in MPHW (Multi Purpose Health Worker) or Sanitary Inspector from a Government-recognised institution; knowledge of computers; sufficient knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both
Application Fee
The application fee is the same across all three posts and must be paid at a post office (with computer facility) using the printed challan generated after submitting the online application. Category Fee (plus postal service charge) Unreserved ₹1,000/- Reserved categories ₹500/- Reserved-category candidates from states other than Gujarat, who are not entitled to reservation benefits in Gujarat, must pay the fee applicable to the Unreserved category. The fee must be paid by 17 September 2026 (as per the Executive Engineer and Sanitary Sub Inspector notifications); the fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances, and applications without fee payment will be rejected.

Selection Process
Selection for all three posts is through a Written Examination and/or Oral Test (Interview), as decided by the BMC Selection Committee, based on the number of applications received. The BMC Selection Committee will decide the appropriate cut-off percentage based on the number of vacancies and applications received, and prepare a merit list; only shortlisted candidates will be issued a call letter for the written exam and/or oral test The medium of the written exam will be decided by BMC based on the post's core educational discipline, or Gujarati by default (English-medium for English-subject questions) For the Executive Engineer (Civil) post, if both a written exam and oral test are held, the final merit list will weight the written exam at 90% and the oral test at 10% For the Sanitary Sub Inspector and MPHW posts, the final merit list will be based on 100% of the result of the written exam/oral test, as conducted For the MPHW post specifically, candidates with National/International, Inter-University, or All India School-level representation in specified sports (athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, judo, rifle shooting, kabaddi, kho-kho, archery, horse riding, shot put, boat racing, chess, and handball) are eligible for a 5% bonus on marks obtained in the first-stage competitive written exam, subject to producing the prescribed certificate Widowed candidates (for all three posts) get 5% additional marks in the written exam under prevailing Government provisions, subject to conditions specified in the notification regarding remarriage status Candidates already in service with BMC or another Government/semi-Government body, if selected, must resign from their existing post before joining; their prior service period will not be regularised or counted The provisional merit list/select list remains valid for 2 years, or until the result of the next such examination is declared, whichever is earlier The Commissioner, Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation's decision on interpretation of the notification and the recruitment process is final and binding on all candidates Also Read: Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 2482 Local Bank Officer Posts
