Eligibility / Qualification

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Candidate must be an Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveer from the Army, Navy, or Air Force, as per the eligibility definitions in this notification. Candidates still serving in the Armed Forces whose Specific Period of Engagement (SPE) completes on or before 30 September 2026 are also eligible to apply. Character must have been "EXEMPLARY" at the time of valid discharge from the Armed Forces. Educational Qualification: A pass in 10th standard or its equivalent, but the candidate should not have passed Graduation or its equivalent examination. Candidate must be able to speak, read and write in Tamil. Medical Standard: Minimum SHAPE-1 or AYE (whichever applicable) at the time of valid discharge from the Armed Forces. Nationality: Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (pre-1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to conditions. Important: Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Disabled Ex-Servicemen (disabled during operation or otherwise), and Dependants of Servicemen killed in action are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for this recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection is in three stages: Online Objective Test, Local Language (Tamil) Test, and Physical Fitness Test. 1. Objective Type Test (Online) Test Maximum Marks Knowledge of English Language 20 Aptitude Test 20 Arithmetic Test 20 Psychometric Test 20 Total 80 2. Local Language Test (Tamil) Conducted separately for a maximum of 20 marks. The overall cut-off scores for General and Reserved category candidates in the Online Test and Local Language Test will be decided by the Bank based on candidates' performance. 3. Physical Fitness Test (100 Marks) Sub-Test Assesses Max. Score Qualifying Score Push-Ups Upper body muscular endurance & trunk stability 30 20 Sit-Ups Core body muscle strength 30 20 1 Kilometre Run Lower body strength, anaerobic power, speed, agility 30 20 Drill Word of command, saluting, movements 10 5 Grand Total - 100 65 Push-Ups/Sit-Ups: 30+ reps = 30 marks, 21–29 reps = 25 marks, 15–20 reps = 20 marks, 14 or below = Fail. 1 km Run: under 4 min = 30 marks, 4–5 min = 20 marks, 5–6 min = 10 marks, over 6 min = Fail. Candidates must compulsorily pass each of the four Physical Fitness sub-tests with the minimum prescribed marks; only one attempt is allowed per sub-test. Candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate (not older than 15 days) from a Civil Assistant Surgeon or above, prior to the Physical Fitness Test. The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted at IOB Central Office, Chennai. Selection Criteria: The final merit list is drawn by adding marks from the Objective Test, Local Language Test, and Physical Fitness Test, prepared category/reservation-wise. Merely meeting the eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for the Online Test or Physical Fitness Test.
